Hi Deeaire, I'm doing ok. How has your day been up until now?
That’s good to hear. It’s been pretty relaxing. I live in New Orleans so I spent most of the day in the city.
That sounds fun. I've never been to New Orleans, my husband use to drive over the road and he loves it there. I live in Virginia, in a small rural town. I spent the day shopping for groceries and paying bills. My life is so exciting. 🙃
I hope you were able to cut the attack short! How are you feeling now? Can you describe how it feels when you are aware of an attack coming on?
Deeaire, distraction does not help overcome anxiety disorder, you have to go straight through it rather than trying to go round it. You have to accept the symptoms for the moment, truly accept them calmly and without fear, in order to stop the flow of fear hormones that are keeping your nervous system over sensitised. Occupation is good for anxiety but not distraction, not blanking the problem out of your mind. That is the way things work.
We all have our unique way to deal with our anxiety. Sometimes working through it works, sometimes distraction works. What ever works, go for it
If you feel the attack coming on, maybe if you rebuke it. Say you refuse to receive it. God did not give us the spirit of fear but of love, power and a self controlled mind. Maybe after your mind sees you will fight off any attack, the attacks will lessen and maybe even completely go away. But you will not know unless you consistently try. Be encouraged that if you do this eventually the attacks will be far less severe. The Lord God Jesus Christ loves you. I am pulling for you. God bless.
