Been prescribed this today but am terrified of taking it and feeling worse than I already do. I am so light headed, having brain zaps/head rushes, electric shock sensations in my head, can't sleep, my legs are so heavy I can hardly walk - feel as though I am being pulled to one side. anyone got any positive remarks about this drug?

Hi VALBARRY, I do have a positive remark regarding Lexapro *Escitalopram. It has been a great drug for me during the last 5 years. I started on 10mg and proceeded up to 15mg. I take it with my lunch each day. Have no tired feeling as well as being clear headed. I hope you give it a chance (which can take from 4-6 wks) I wish it to work for you as it has for me. Good Luck xx

Hi Agora1. We have communicated in the past regarding esvitalopram. I have been on these meds for 5.months now and they have been an absolute godsend. My Doctor wants to increase the dosage from 10mgs to 20mgs. Can you please tell me which dosage suited you as I know you have taken esvitalopram for a long time. Regards Valerie

Hi VALBARRY ,

They worked well for me but i just had to give them a chance and i started on on a low dose of citalopram at first four years ago and hit a low two years later and was then given Escitalopram (the big sister of Citalopram) which has worked for me so far. Tried loads of different ones before these and these seemed to help me through what is a tough time and as Agora1 said clearer headed than the others i may have have tried in the past. Oh and i do get a dry mouth aswell, i take plenty of fluids and a trusty bottle of juice or water with me to keep hydrated and i find it helps with that.

Good luck and hope your feeling a little easier now.
