Escitalopram

Ok Day 7 on Escitalopram feeling totally out of it, light headed , vision problems and head pressure. When someone is talking to me I'm zoning out . Feeling miserable don't know if I want to continue . At least Xanax would kick in quick and not make me feel like this.

This is how I felt too. I ended up quitting cause I couldn't handle it since I'm already pretty weak. Others have said that you should stick it out as long as you can though because the positive effects can be very worth it and the side effects will go away. If it's really bad though then talk to your doctor and possibly quit or start a different drug

Hi it's really hard I'm just not sure what to do . The side effects are so yucky

Hi Jodz,  Remember that everyone is different in how they react to different medications.  Xanax is a fast acting antianxiety whereas Lexapro is more like an even keel medication.  It's not meant to give you that quick fix.  However, even though one week is not enough for the efficacy to show through, if you don't want to continue you need to give a call to the doctor.  He may be able to convince you to stay on the med or switch you over to something else as Porgadeshou suggested.  Are you by chance taking Xanax along with Escitalopram?  Your body is going through an adjustment period.  Wish you well with getting this resolved.  xx

Hi yer just not sure what to do . I have taken Xanax twice this week but that's all, as I was so anxious and going into a panick attack . I must admit I love Xanax as it is a quick fix . Maybe I should just stick to it ? X

Hi dear,  that is really your call or your doctors.   Xanax is  quite a drug, but you will need something more long term as well.  What I mean by that is a drug that stays longer in the body.  Let me know what you decide.  You are in a hard period right now, once you get settled on your medication you will feel better.   Good Luck..xx

I am having the same problem. This is day 7 for me too. Day six I felt this strange head sensation, alsofelt like my heart is beating fast, and anxious. I check my blood pressure and pulse they are ok but I am on high blood pressure med.Then I realized the effect occured the same time on day 6 as on day 7, down to the minute. I took the dosage the same time each day.
