I have Schizophrenia, but I feel like something else is going on...

Hello, and welcome to my very first post on this site. I just really need a place to put this... and because of the community here and people I relate to, this feels safe.

So, I have Schizophrenia. My visual and auditory hallucinations are not severe, but they do exist. But, as of late, I feel like there is something else going on. There are periods that it seems as if I black out and come back and everything is different. My voice, my hair, my clothing- and my mindset is in a very weird place. It feels as if I am floating on a cloud above my body, and I'm watching it move but I have no control over it. The "Voices" in my head are not generalized as most people with my condition, but they have their own personality, name, gender, look, and they feel separate from me. I do not know what is going on, and I am starting to get scared. If anyone has any suggestions, please tell me. I am very confused and need an explanation. Thank you.

You must consult with a psychiatrist and possibly with a neuropsychiatrist.

I am afraid that they will lock me up... my current medication is working, even though it turns me into a zombie, and I don't want to mess that up. But, I know I should

As far as I know, doctors don't "lock people up." I think for that to happen you must present a clear danger to yourself or others. I think you will feel better if you seek additional treatment.

So sorry you are going through that mysteriousness. I think seeing your psychiatrist and therapist would be helpful.
