Surges at night ?

Does anyone experience surges that keep them awake at night. Is this due to anxiety? I have been suffering from anxiety and depression since I had a total left hip operation. I am not on meds, except occasional diazipam 2mg when nights get tough. I have no thyroid problems and been tested for Lymes and adrenal tumor, all is good. I find my self becoming increasinly isolated and not going out or interacting with friend. I no longer work due to anxiety and feel that as a great loss. Are the surges due to anxiety, I don't have them in the day. Help please.

Thank you for your reply. How do you deal with your surges at night? Do you take meds or do anything to relieve them in some way?

What do you mean by surges?

Hi, just before I drop off I experience a rush that seems to begin in the chest and stomach area. About six month ago the the surges went on all night every night, and I had to take sleeping tablets to get asleep. It is getting less now and there are nights that I don't have the surges anymore. I hope this is a indication that my anxiety is getting better.
