Do you guys ever feel like your heart is cramping when your anxiety gets really bad?

Yea, get chest pain pretty much daily, seems to get worse at night. Figured out it was mostly chest wall pain which can mimic angina. Lots of nerves bundled up in that part of the body so it's easy to mistake other causes of chest pain like muscle cramps, heartburn or just tense muscles do to anxiety for cardiac issues. Heart also races a lot and that sucks, have Xanax for that but only take it when things are really bad. Always best to see a doc and rule out anything serious though but anxiety can definitely cause that!

Hopefully this isn’t too personal but did Xanax cause weight gain for you? I’ve always struggled with body image and that’s my number one hold up for getting help

No, not like Seroquel or Remeron, on both those too. The problem with Xanax is it's extremely addictive and can cause dependency and withdrawal symptoms, should be used sparingly and for short periods of time (IMO) There are lots of options for anxiety now days, definitely check with a doc, tell them your concerns about side effects. I don't blame you one bit, gaining a bunch of weight is usually not a good thing!
