I'd sure like you to name some, in fact I challenge you to name some. I'm older now and know for a fact there are not any. If thinking things like valerian root etc., forget about it.
I guarantee there is no substance known to humankind that can stop anxiety and panic attacks dead in their tracks in an instant as diazepam, also known as valium.
If you only take diazepam "when needed" there is no question of addiction. If you do take it long term then when you come off it you have to taper off gradually but that's true of all psychoactive meds. Doctors are advised not to prescribe it for more than 8 weeks if taken daily but I took it for 18 months every day and never had a problem. When I decided to come off them I just tapered them off slowly over a number of weeks.
I don't understand why diazepam has been so demonised and why people are so worried about 'addiction' that they avoid it like it's cyanide and prefer to suffer without it.
Though of course the eventual ideal goal has to be recovery without needing any medications.
Diazepam is based on a thousand year old natural remedy from India obtained from the rawalwulfa root.
