Hello, I was on citalopram for 10+years and thought they were not as good as before. I switched to fluoxetine and was worse. Now on sertraline and improved. Needless to say we are all different and some might have opposite experience.

I was on Citalopram for the last 10 years and came off in November 2017 only to go back on them on 1st Jan 2018. Now 11 weeks have passed and still not right (on 40 mg last 5 weeks). The doctor said our body chemistry can change over time and medication may start to be less effective. I am going to give it another 6 weeks before deciding on a switch to Mirtazapine. I read somewhere that going back on the same medication can take longer to work, so hang on in there. Also, there are other meds you can switch to, so keep the faith.
