I remember you having something else that wouldn't go down for a couple days. Remember?

Of course it eventually did. As with the Starburst Candy, it will melt and go down sooner. Try relaxing and drinking a hot drink. The sensation will go away as it melts slowly and leaves the side of your throat. You are safe, you are okay. Keep us posted on this Johnnie.

I doubt you would choke any more, it's been an hour already. Starburst if I remember correctly are kinda hard and may have touched the side of your throat when going down making it feel as if it is stuck there. If the candy got that far, it is more than likely it went down. Did you try sipping on something hot. Tea or Coffee, once that feeling is gone, having some milk will sooth the sensitive membranes in the back and sides of the throat.

You will be okay.

Having some food may be just what you need. Have some water or ginger ale to help moisten the food when it goes down. You will be okay Johnnie. :) Enjoy your meal.

It's called being paranoid, try not to worry, you are ok .

It’s going to be okay !

Totally reminds me of myself whenever I eat certain foods I always freak out and think it’s still in my throat

I know it can freak you out because the candy sticks to stuff but you’ll be okay just eat some food or drink something to help you relax

Hope you feel better !

Here's a story about something similar that might make you laugh. When I was 8, before I realized what I had was an anxiety disorder, my family decided to go to my grandmother's church one Sunday. It's a quiet church with no instruments. A very somber service. I was extremely bored and my grandmother gave me a Life Saver and told me to be still and behave.

Well, in quick order I dozed off just in time for the preacher to hit the pulpit loud enough to startle me awake which caused me to suck the whole Life Saver candy down my throat. Panic ensued and I stood up in that quiet little church yelling I was dying. Long story short, I caused more of a ruckus than most of those poor old people had seen in a long time AND I got to have copious amounts of hot chocolate to melt the candy. I wouldn't eat any kind of hard candy for a long time after that, lol.

I hope you were able to fall asleep. I'm having a hard time sleeping tonight because of some hateful things my Mom said to me during a phone conversation earlier. She's in the early stages of dementia and can say things she wouldn't normally say but the can be very hurtful. It's very hard to cope. But remember that each day is a new chance to start over. I hope when you wake up you feel all better with no more yucky feeling in your throat.
