Hello, I'm 20 years old and for a few weeks now I've been confused over a few symptoms I've been having. I do sufferfrom anxiety and I have ahstma that's not chronic in fact it's almost as if I don't have it, I've always been able to jump, run, do everything. For a few weeks now I've had shortness of breath and a very clogged nose (cali has been cold so I understand that maybe thats the reason) that has nothing in it no mucus but it does make it difficult to breath and it's been messing with my anxiety. I've had a few anxiety attacks in the past days because I keep thinking it's my ahstma and the only way to start breathing better is if I cry and when I do it my eyelid twitches and my hands start to shake. Also, I've been waking up gasping for air randomly which is so scary, sometimes I feel like Its this small amount of think saliva in my throat blocking and when I drink water I go back to breathing normally but usually I get an anxiety attack right after. Today I have a sore throat and I've been coughing (like a forced cough) and about an hour ago I was trying to fall asleep and I felt like I wasn't breathing although I knew I was and then when I was almost into deep sleep I sat up so quick and gasped for air, and again it was this small amount of thick saliva that I keep feeling on my throat. My anxiety is extremely high right now because I googled something names Sleep Apnea and now my head is telling me I have it. Anyone ever experienced this ? Im genuinely going crazy
Ps: this only happens at night, all day I breath just fine (besides the clogged up nose) and and I notice that things that help me breath better are crying, listening to music, and humming.

Hey there, Yessiflower. How are you feeling now? I can relate with my anxiety causing all sorts of weird sensations and over sensitivity. Falling asleep is a challenge at best and usually get three hours a night. Have you been to see a doctor or specialist? My anxiety and panic has turned into health anxiety and I've been to the gastroenterologist, cardiologist and even hospital for artery checks, ekg, ecg, blood pressure and more testing. Guess what? Everything checks out fine. The crazy thing is, anxiety makes you fell otherwise and causes actual physical symptoms in your body that you've never experienced which freaks you out and makes you run to google and then you think you have thirty other problems. I'm so guilty of this! I'm not taking an anti-depressants or xanax as I refuse to do so. I live in Michigan and these long cold, gray days with no sunshine or little vitamin D from the sun is brutal to my mental state of being. My advice is to see the doctor but write down exactly what you want to discuss and go from there. It may take a specialist or two but it's worth the piece of mind. I live alone as well so it makes everything harder with no one around to talk to or if something goes wrong. Keep busy with tasks and hobbies and spend more time with family and friends. They will understand and support you if you choose to tell them about it. Keep that head up and one day soon life will be easier.
I feel good in the morning, it's night time when it hits me...the only thing I'm worried about is the waking up and gasping for air that keeps happening and also not being able to breath through my nose because it's stuffy with absolutely nothing, as much as I blow nothing comes out. I DONT snore at night, I don't breath through my mouth either so I really don't know what's going on. It must be hard living on your own and dealing with anxiety but at least here you know that you'e not alone.
Night time is hard for me as well. It's your anxiety lurking and reminding you of your past experiences while trying to sleep. I've always been a closed mouth sleeper and breath through my nose. I've had the same problem with my nasal sinuses the past week. Went to the pharmacy and got some non-drowsy nasal decongestants and the nasal cavities open right away so you can breath through your nose and sleep better. Just take one an hour before bed. Thanks for replying.
California has been cold lately so my nose has just been acting crazy, I got some medication for that today and I'm feeling a bit better but hopefully HOPEFULLY I sleep peacefully tonight. 😕 I feel better knowing I'm not the only one with these symptoms but I do feel for you cause I know how horrible anxiety feels, it's hard to control it.
