Wonders of hypnotherapy

4 years ago I decided to try hypnotherapy to alleviate my anxiety and it failed miserably,so I gave it up after a month of trying.

I’m giving it another try, this time with a different therapist and oh my lord it is amazing 😉.

My anxiety levels have reduced since I started a week and half ago by 25 percent.

Hypnotherapy takes your stress away and just relaxes every part of your body.

When the therapist counts down from 10 to 1 I’m already less anxious and willing to open up and c where it takes me.

I truly recommend it as long as you find the right therapist for you, getting the wrong one and it won’t work. So make sure you do research first. Secondly it is expensive but just one session can do wonders.

That's wonderful, Jenny! I'm so very pleased for you! I'm just about to arrange an initial session with a very well respected practice here who specialise in the treatment of panic attacks - I'm really hoping for similar success.

I hope it continues to go well for you - please do keep us updated! xxxxx

Tempestteapot, as you see, I totally agree with jennylove. Hypnotherapy has been an amazing added tool that I use everyday in relaxing. It's powerful yet safe. Keep an open mind and stay positive. Good Luck with your session :) xx

jennylove12, I'm glad you gave hypnotherapy another try. Hypnotherapy is a part of my meditation and deepbreathing daily. I started out with an amazing therapist years ago and I'm able to listen to a tape and go into the same deep relaxation mode. Interesting that you mentioned when you get to the numbers 10 down to 1, you are ready to see where it takes you.

I've been doing it for so long that just hearing the numbers counted backwards from 10 to 1 puts me in an unbelievable calm. From watching the numbers go down on an elevator, to watching the last 10 seconds of the microwave. Hearing it on tv and yes even reading your post and you mentioning the countdown from 10 to 1 puts me in a relaxed state. Shoulders immediately come down from my ears, deep breathing starts and within seconds serenity and peace take over.

What's great is that we have the power and control to do this for ourselves and in like deep breathing, it's always with us. Because of the cost, I had 6 sessions which were enough for me. YouTube has some hypnotherapy as well. I use a tape that I've had for years that I listen to each morning, each dental and doctor visit , hospital stay etc. Continued success :) xx

Are you in the US? If so how did you find the hypnotherapist and what do you look for to decide if the person is a good one. Thanks.

No I do not live in America. I’m in the Southern Hemisphere. I called my doctor for a referral and did my research to make sure he was legit.

I personally would not get someone with little experience. Try to find a experienced one. I searched internet for good hypnotherapist, mine has 20 years of experience.

The hypnotist should be able to relax your mind and body and then while your in a state of hypnosis imagine yourself relaxed in a normally stressed situations. So over time you will learn techniques on how to relax naturally and stay calm is highly anxious times.

Good luck.

Hi b1b1b1, I'm in Chicago but strictly by chance my therapist shares an office with another colleague as well as a hypnotherapist. As jennylove stated, it's always a good idea to have a referral so you feel comfortable from the start. Let us know if you give it a try. :) xx

Thank you Agora. I think I will start to look. I am in the NY area. It is always difficult to find good professionals in any area. I remember it took me a number of tries before I found my doctor, dentist, etc. xx
