sophie4 here....after emerging from a long, mega-hideous depression.

I have a fabulous dog book collection...want any titles of the best?

About a year ago, someone offered me 2 Shih Tzu. You know we have our Teacup Poodle and our rescue, York-Poo, and belong to a wonderful animal hospital that charges a monthly fee but you get teeth cleaning, comprehensive exams, mega-discounts on flea & tic and heartguard...and should you be just a wee bit neurotic, you can visit the hospital, without an appointment, every single day of the year. The Vets and staff are fabulous. As a matter of fact, I'm taking our lovelies the end of the week...and then off to the groomer!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a dog person....this is inter-generational....way, way back. WAIT....didn't finish my thought....the offer of the two Shih Tzu offer. We pay a little over $134 a month for the Wellness Program (the best one) and on a social security income, certainly can't double that payment. The person who offered us the Shih Tzu's became so angry!!!!

Luna_Child, are you the community/forum behavioral therapist/cheerleader? That's the way it seems to me. Are your depressions gone????

You wrote the authors you enjoy, didn't you? Understand this...I come from a family....generations...of readers. I used to take my grandmother 7 books a week as she read one book a day...but one day she 'let me have it' because there was a "dirty" word in one of the books....she actually believed I read all the books I brought her...we struck up a deal...I began bringing her 14 books a week so she could fling one (or three) that included dirty words across her apartment. Then I tried to help her learn to feel comfortable with dirty words asking her to repeat after me.."darn"...when that didn't fly I uncharacteristically gave up!!!! My grandmother was something. She won a Betty Crocker Baking Contest! She understood the wisdom of developing and following a routine. She read a book a day until she was almost 100 years old...she died on Christmas Morning when she was 103. She was not an affectionate person but let me tell you....she sure was with me!!! I used to walk into her apartment and do this little 'Hello' dance with the song, "I love you, a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck.......then I'd smother her with hugs and kisses.

How did that come from the authors I love...Alice Hoffman, Jodi Picoult, Lisa Genova, Lauren Slater, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Amy Tan, Barbara Kingsolver, Edna O'Brien, Jamie Ford, Arthor Golden, Kathryn Stockett Anna Quidland, so many authors who write about dogs....this would be way too long of a list. There is one extraordinary man named Viktor Frankl. I read his books MULTIPLE TIMES. His most famous book is titled, "Man's Search for Meaning".

Well....it's Wednesday. How about we name it "Wonderful Wednesdays" and do one thing we feel is wonderful each Wednesday. We could begin with looking at a photo of a smile...all ages. Or, we could take a whiff of something that smells incredible. Or we could begin the day with a favorite 'sinful' food...mine would be CHOCOLATE! Something personal...something wonderful.

ME?????? Have a photos of gallery????? I don't even have a cell phone!!!!! I'm never "all good" but I sure have gone from fair-good to deep depression in, oh let me see, a second!!!! My depression lurks beneath my every cell constantly. Know that right this minute and the time that follows includes thinking about my dear friend Luna-Child and sending all sorts of what I hope will be helpful vibes to crash into your depression and allow it to lift.

SOOOOOOO sorry that your afternoon is a rough one. Can you give the depression a name? Did a thought scamper across your mind that may have triggered it? Did you just sort of glance at something that may have triggered it?

Not much to offer, but you are receiving love-vibe from me and HUGE BOOGIE MEN are about to pounce on your covers and SMASH that demon depression out of this planet...or the one you're living on right now.

Oh Luna,

You already know that I feel so sad that you're hurting and you know I'd do anything I could possibly do to extend my hand to help lift you out of it. Just remember, you have, in me, a true, real, loyal friend who is continuing to learn all about different aspects of you and I have so much respect and fondness for you.

New England is so beautiful. My mother loved it there. But, for me it's way too cold!!!! I hate cold weather. Start to warm up in August. Ha!

I just came across this post about your dogs !! I am totally a dog person as well!! Love doggies🐶🐕🦮!!! My grandmothers did and my mom all had them all our lives!! My sweet fur baby chi terrier mix -passed in September & miss her soo very much she was beautiful and adorable and really the best dog ever, much much more than a pet a best friend, companion and family!💔💔so was beyond painful losing her! 😱😔😣I have since adopted another fur baby Also chihuahua mix however she was adopted from a shelter and there’s still many unknowns about her history!!?? She is super cute was soo sweet when I first met her& shelter said there were no issues with walking or greeting ppl but so far after a week or so she’s growled several times at ppl , my family members and shown some possessive behaviors and aggressive out of the blue & randomly so I’m at a loss wondering how to handle?? It’s funny cause she’ll be soo incredibly sweet, affectionately loving and friendly then another min suddenly start growling a bit then try to snap at someone getting to close to me & 2x’s now actually she’s done it to me suddenly??even when I was trying to cuddle her closer??? I’m soo sad and confused??? My other dog never did anything like this so it’s brand new & puzzling me now? 🤣😣

Oh!! Difficult to say what may have triggered her response...sorry if she's a he. Luna_Child's post makes a lot of sense. She's very well versed in everything dogs.

I subscribe to wonderful dog magazines...Modern Dog (the best); Dogster (great)...I get Whole Dog Journal on-line and will look up what happened with your dog to see if I can up with some answers. Just got a fab deal with DogWatch.

Thank you soo much -yes good thoughts from Luna & also I will check out the websites you mentioned! & she’s a she yes☺️And she’s 5yrs old so she definitely has had a life history So could have for sure been mistreated poor baby😂😣😢I will keep researching cause she really is a doll overall otherwise I’m thinking she’s just really confused??

Luna, this computer is specifically made for seniors with little or no computer knowledge experience or knowledge. So, if I can't figure out stuff on this, I think 'dumb' fits this old lady!!

I have no clue why I mentioned that I'm on Pinterest. Came out of the blue.

Maybe something about up-loading. Or downloading. I get a PFsomething file sent to me and when I click on it nothing happens. Ignore all my computer jazz...up to me to learn!!!

I'd rather read than do most anything. But being able to read, as in seeing the words, has been getting increasingly more difficult. I had the eye exam and learned that I have cataracts and my eye pressure...something like that...is way high. I've been hyperventilating since receiving that news...and I received it from a snooty person who wasn't eager, maybe annoyed is the right word, to answer my deluge of questions.

Danny Kay has a lot to do with this.
