Hi Jenny, I'm so sorry to hear this, losing 8 years of life is very sad, I pray you would take it step by step and get past it . What are you thinking about might happen if you leave the house? You are amazing person who must have dreams of doing fun things and adventures and want some excitement in life and you are worth life and life is worth living . Even going out for coffee . I listened to the first instalment of series. Found it very interesting.it suggest that we have anxiety and depression cos we have moved away from god and stopped trusting him and thinking we can do it on our own, when it’s obvious we can’t.
We relying on mans solution to anxiety issues instead of putting our faith in god and realising if we follow god anxiety will lose its power over us.
Hi there I too suffer from agoraphobia I know exactly what your going through I have been mostly housebound for 6 yrs I'm now on medication and slowly seeing the light, it's very hard I know I can't do out of my town at all unfortunately my doc is an hour away so for years I tried to just deal with it but I finally took a leap and made the uncomfortable trip to start this process
You can go outside. That’s great. I haven’t been outside at all in 8 years.
I have entire body convulsions if I get within 20 steps of front door.
My anxiety is incredibly bad, lot of the time I just rock myself on my bed, trying to ignore the symptoms.
I am happy you are improving. Maybe one day I can go outside to feel the rain on my head.
Best of luck.
jennylove12, it's not about "maybe" one day but "when" you do go outside once again, you will feel the rain, the wind and the sun. I was agoraphobic for 5 years, never left my house. Doctor and nurses came to me. I understand your pain but more than that, I understand your Fear. It is so deep seated that it's going to take a leap of faith and belief in yourself to take that first step.
There is nothing outside that is anymore frightening than what we carry in our thoughts. It will take small steps forward, never getting discouraged if you slide back. There is no set time as to how long it takes. It will happen when you are ready and I will be the first to hold your hand and go with you.
You are not alone jenny. We all care enough to see you through this. There is a world waiting for you to experience life again. xx
You aren't housebound anymore I take it?
