Does anyone ever think ‘surely anxiety can’t make me have these thoughts’ and ‘anxiety can’t make me feel like this’ ?

Hi Boo19011, I don't think there has been one person who hasn't had that thought I certainly was one of them. I was the person that was going to prove the doctor's wrong. I use to think of my tombstone as saying "See I told you I was sick" lol

I had a team of doctors, specialists to cover all bases. Did they all go to the same school? Because it always came back as "Anxiety" caused. How can something that can't be seen internally or externally be causing so much turmoil in my life. It's got to be real.

After years of limping through life, doctor after doctor, test after test, therapy after therapy, I stepped back one day and thought. Could I be wrong? Maybe these doctors did know something about medicine. It was then I started really doing my homework. Reading everything I go get my hands on to educate me in the Mind/Body connection and how this invisible disorder called Anxiety could be the culprit all along.

So as not to make this a book of my life, getting back to your answer :) Yes we have all felt this way. xx

Wow I also think of me saying "I told u I was sick" its just so hard for me to accept it because I proved a Dr wrong and wound of having to get surgery. I have very little trust in my Dr. Especially since he diagnosed me with hypoglycemia and hasn't done the blood work to prove it. I did some research and you pretty much do a glucose test before and after a meal and they take several blood tests. Last night I almost passed out because of this and it scared me so much. My heart rate was 56 bpm

Victoria, you heart rate at 56 is good, the problem is the blood sugars are unstable in your body after a meal. Usually hypoglycemia once diagnosed can be monitored by regulating your eating and drinking habits which your doctor should be telling you how to do. A nurse/dietician may be able to give you an idea on what and how to plan your meals through a menu. Don't give up on finding some answers. One of the symptoms of hypo is Anxiety. So that is not in your imagination at all, there is a physical cause other than adrenaline. xx

My Dr just said increase my protein that's it. Ive been doing research and alot of people are telling me to eat alot of broccoli so I'm going to do that. I didnt know a heart rate of 56 was Ok. I was panicking so bad because my kids were staring at me and getting scared. They said I turned really white and my face was red in was also sweating so bad. I wouldnt want anyone to experience that. I think I could control it with the proper help. Also ive been reading that anxiety causes respiratory problems such as hyperventialtion but when ibthink of hyperventialtion I think of breathing super fast uncontrollably like a panic attack. I dont have this but it feels like my chest is heavy and it feels odd to take in a deep breath but if I do theirs no issues. You know how after you cry you feel it in your chest and then u take that breath I call it a double breath well tjats what I do constantly and the drs say my lungs feel fine. Its very scary because I'm afraid in going to stop breathing but its been like this for 2 months now and it cokes and goes. If I run around I'm breathing fine no troubles its just a heavy sensation. Especially laying down

Hard to believe it’s anxiety isn’t it. I just feel trapped in a bubble and have done for over a year now. I just feel not in touch with reality it’s scary to me. I’m just waiting for CBT and hoping I can start my recovery. Hope you are okay. You will be fine you can do this x

Increasing your protein and cutting down on the carbs and sugars helps in that it stays with you longer. It helps avoid the Ups and Downs of your blood sugar levels. As for your breathing, your doctor said your lungs are just fine and the fact that you are able to run around doing things with no problems should assure you that it is not coming from the lungs but from the tightened muscles in your chest wall.

It is not dangerous, it will not stop you from breathing. I've had that at times in taking that "double breath" sometimes when anxious we tend to hold our breath and then the body just needs to catch up by allowing that double breath.

Always keep your doctor informed and updated. I can only talk from experience with anxiety. Your doctor is the best judge of your health history and issues.

It sounds like you are your own best advocate. xx

Thank you. Ive been telling myself I'm fine I'm fine. Its just a very annoying and weird sensation. Is there anything like exercise I can do to alleviate the tightened muscles? It mames me cough and when I cough it feels like It helps but I also dont wanna keep pushing out coughs either.

I really don’t know if this helps or makes you feel better but I often forget to take a breath sometimes and that sets me off. I listen to meditation when I go to sleep breathing techniques etc. Hope this helps x

I feel like I breathe too deep and too much.

I use heat around my shoulders *microwavable which helps reduce some of the tightness in the chest. Meditation and deep breathing can calm those body and the mind down. YouTube has many videos to choose from. I use 5-10 minute Meditation/DeepBreathing. x

Ok I'm going to look that up. Thanks for the advice

I feel that way. I feel like everything is because of an ailment and it can't be anxiety doing that. Physical symptoms
