On top of my anxiety issues worsened by the seasonal blue, I've decided to quit smoking (thinking that it would improved the anxiety symptoms). The doctor prescribed CHAMPIX which its common side effects are well known: nausea, bad stomach, vivid dreams, depression,.... I took the 1st table 1 h ago and I'm VERY anxious
It would be extremely helpful it any one else in this community has been through the same process
Thanks

Hi gemmapa I've used the Champix to give up smoking it was a year ago now the 25th of November 2016. I would have to say it's one of the best things I've ever done giving up smoking. It has taken a long time to clear all my lungs out I still got some mornings and bring up phlegm but recently a friend of mine the same age as me, popped a hole in the bottom of Islam from consistent coughing. So I'm so glad that I gave up when I did and I encourage you to continue to never give up on giving up! Yes it has helped me with my anxiety but I also did a little bit of post-traumatic stress disorder therapy which is about when anxiety comes how to deal with it sometimes it means I'm patting a softcat or I'm sniffing a little bit of lavender or I am coming or listening to a nice song and other times I have to sit down and think of three things that I'm very grateful for in my life to enable the anxiety to subside. The hardest thing was to get over the hand mouth action after 30 years of smoking at first it was brushing my teeth and then walking around with a box of toothpicks in my pocket. Celery and carrot sticks great to crunch on and now I'm completely over it and I can't stand the smell of cigarette smoke it really irritates my throat and makes me feel quite sick. I wish you all the best in your endeavour to quit smoking. And I've added you to my follow list so if you posted anymore cuz I will be able to read them and reply to you. Good luck and a Merry Christmas too.
