Drove a 2 mile round trip today for the first time in months. Had a brief panic when i reached the carriagway but got through it. Was Agora's suggestion to just sit in the car first without driving anywhere that gave me the push. Came home shaking like a leaf but i did it, and if a scaredy cat like me can do it anybody can lol
Thanks Agora xx

I have suffered with anxiety for as long as I can renember. After driving for around 3 years I had one of my worst panic attacks on a motorway bridge (no place to pull over so me not having control over the situation which is while my panic attacks always occur) for the next couple ov years I dreaded even the shortest journey on a motorway and would suffer in my world minor panic attacks every time. Now almost 5 years later after continually battling on and pushing myself to the extremes I can now complete my weekly commute from liverpool to Glasgow without any hint of panic. My advice is to keep pushing yourself a lil further each journey you take and hopefully like me you win one of the battles Anxiety throws at you! Well done for taking the first step! 💖
Great Job sarahjaneR hopefully I'm next to push myself and stop being a scared cat lol... I haven't driven in months because of anxiety and fear its the worst 😞
Its horrible isnt it. I just sat in my car for 10 minutes one evening then next day went a little way up the lane, then a bit further. Was shaking but managed it. Seems so silly when i think back to all the places ive driven to in the past. I was so nervous i couldnt do a 3 point turn it ended up more like an 8 point turn lol. Keep trying Amarie it will happen xx
sarahjane, oh the old "3 point turn" had to go back for a second time when first getting my license. Now, you name it, I can do it. Parallel parking I've got Aced
Like anything else in life we eventually get there by not quitting.
