Severe anxiety

I have anxiety and depression for 5 years. I'm on medication not helping. My therapist told me she doesn't know what else to do for me. I've been to a few therapists and psychiatrists. I don't know what else to do. I'm afraid of the anxiety and that's making it worse. I read a book once that said if your scared of it it will get worse and can't get that thought out of my head. So I'm afraid of it and it's getting worse. I feel I need outpatient hospitalization or support group. I need help and don't know where to turn.

You say you read a book once saying that if you get scared of anxiety and depression it will get worse. Now read a book that says that if you lose your fear of anxiety and depression (and tells you how) you will recover from it. If you look at a few of the hundreds of reviews for the book on Amazon you will see that 90% rate it Very Good or Excellent. The book is of course 'Self help for your nerves' by Claire Weekes available new or used on Amazon in which she describes step by step how through understanding and acceptance we can pacify our over-sensitised nervous system and recover our peace of mind. All who read it soon recognise themsrlves in its pages. The author claims her method will with practice and persistance bring recovery no matter how long or how badly the reader has suffered. I think you would benefit greatly by reading her book. What's to lose?

Then you misunderstood it, untold thousands have found reassurance and recovery from it, the fact that it continues to sell 50 years after it was written bears testament to its worth.

I can't stop being afraid of the anxiety that's why it doesn't work. How can I get better

Jeff the problem with the book is that I can't stop being afraid of the anxiety. I can't just let it go. How do I do that?

Maybe you need to try a new medication?

I will call my doctor. I'm scared of the anxiety and it keeps getting worse. How do I calm myself?

Have you tried anxietynomore.co.uk

and reading book by founder Paul David "At last a life"

See their blog or read a book about all of them who recovered eventually from anxiety!

You can do it, please do not give up!

I am in the same process, it is not easy but if others did it, we can too! X

Take care and good luck!

I am getting better by dealing with issues that brought my anxiety, I realised that was very important in my case! In my opinion, dealing with the cause of it is very important! It my case all were suppressed emotions and rejection!

Nowadays, I constantly saturate my mind with reading/listening audio books, become more spiritual! I find all from Teal Swan so helpful

Here are some links but once you are on YouTube you can chose her other videos!

Also, using Rescue Remedy drops from Dr Bach, all flowers essence, helps me enormously, honestly I cannot believe it. I bought it from my local pharmacy.

I would occasionally use Valium/Diazepam but can tell you these drops has the same or even better effect for me. Because my anxiety is rather severe I use them a few times per day or when I feel that anxiety is coming then use every 15 min 4 drops under my tongue. It was recommending by my energy healer, I have been trying everything so far! It is natural and effective!

I have.been on 40mg aropax for 20 yrs and it worked wonderfully for my anxiety. Unfortunately it had stopped working for me after all this time. They now have me on mirtazipine 30mg...great for sleeping 25mg of seroquel at night with the mirtazipine and seropax when needed until we get doses or medications right. And i am still taking aropax not mentally strong enough to come off them at this point due to side effects when you come off them. Hope this helps just know your not alone as there is alot of us fighting our horrible demons and monsters of anxiety and depression and a heap of other mental illnesses. 😚

comming off a medicine was horrible for me. i was taking mirtazipine but it didn't work for me. im still trying to get off of it slowly. withdrawal from mirtazipine can be very difficult if you should have to get off of it. i never heard of aropax, what kind of medicine is that MAOI, SSRI?

when u say u have tried medication, how long did u use it? many ppl don't stay on medication long enough for it to work. im wondering if that is the case with you. what are some of the medicines u have tried and have u tried other things like nutrition?
