How do you deal with them? Is it anything to be worried about? I have been having them now for the past week and had some chest pain I'm going to the doctors this week but how does everyone cope with it?

Palpitations?
I take deep breaths in my nose and out my mouth but that only helps sometimes. It tends to go away properly when you fully take your mind off it through doing something else and enjoying that something else - but I know that is the hardest thing to do when you have the feeling. I am also struggling with this and need to go to the doctors to explain this. I’m sorry I can’t help with any major tips right now but I can reassure you you’re not alone and I know it’s a very uneasy feeling.
You're on the right track ... get to the Doctor and get checked out
I had been to various ER's in my area for 3 years with what I thought were Heart attacks ...
After an hour of monitoring they always gave me a GI Cocktail and sent me on my way with instructions to follow up with my GP , Cardiologist, and GI .. frustrating ...
I did eventually lose my Gallbladder ... IT was only working at 15 %
The HIDA Scan caught that .
All the Cardio tests were clean every time
They put me on metoprolol [ 25mg] Just as a " precaution" but all that did was slow my heart rate and made me feel cold ... The GI people put me on Prilosec .... If there was a side effect I presented with it .
For the PSVT's that were stress / Anxiety induced Epsom Salts, and Magnesium chloride [ Ancient Minerals is the brand I use ] seemed to do the trick ... at least mitigated the symptoms to a manageable level where I didn't think I was going crazy or going to die overnight in my sleep , but that wasnt overnight either ... Had to soak every night for a week for about an hour . If not a full bath , then minimally a foot soak ... 2 cups either way in the water
As for my general anxiety from .... well, life in general, I started drinking Valerian Tea or Chamomile tea with some fresh ginger root cut up and let it steep for ~ 15 min before drinking
I would seriously suggest you talk to your doctor to be sure of any interactions from the Valerian or any other herbal remedy ... The last thing you want to do is further compound the situation by having an adverse reaction to any contraindication that they may present to any medication . The Valerian seems to act as a GABA inhibitor
I found this website earthclinic.com somewhat useful to try to manage the anxiety/ GERD stuff since it seems to trigger the palpatations ... you'll need to weed through it and see if any of that appeals to you or looks useful .
Best Wishes !!
Palpitations are a very common symptom of anxiety, it can mean you're just very conscious of your heartbeat, the beats are irregulsrly spaced or your number of heartbeats per minute is above normal. I've had it twice this year just for a few days and definitely related to days/occasions which are stressful.
See your doctor by all means but the best remedy is to just accept them as normal during times of stress and that they can't harm you. If you don't obsess about them and avoid flooding your nervous system with fear then they will pass before too long.
There's absolutely no need for weird and wonderful concoctions of questionable benefit, just accept, accept, accept and all will be well. The less attention you pay them the sooner they will yield.
The chest pain is most probably muscular tension also caused by anxiety but do ask your doctor about it.
You'll be fine.
