I have not felt this in a while so I am taken back. I feel like I can't catch my breath. I haven't been talking my medication because I have been sick for the past week. I am not sure if it's because I have been talking my medication or because I am sick. I am trying to go to sleep but I am freaking out because I can feel my heart pounding and I feel like I am forgetting hope to breath. I am trying to be calm but it is getting hard to do. As in falling asleep by in telling myself it's ok but then as soon as am facing into a deep sleep I feel like I need to garsp for air. I was going to take my medication today but in did take a cold medication so I decided not to take it. I really hope this feeling is for one night because it's really scary and but feeling my anxiety. I don't want to have a complete anxiety attack because I forgot how it feels and I terrified of what an it may feel like again.

It's probably not a good idea to skip your meds. If you are afraid to take it with cold medicine then spread them out.

If you are sick you should remain hydrated.

Get well soon:)

Yes ,I think I will just start taking medication again. At least then I will feel a little more comfortable in the fact that I took my medication. I have been sick for a while now and this intense cough is not helping my heart palpitations. Thank you❣️

Have you seen the md for the cough? Mayb you need meds.

I don't think I would ever take a chance on missing my meds. I've forgotten to take one or two a few times and I've physically felt it.

Take care of yourself.

No I haven't really taken my cough too serious since it is due to the common cold and I have always had instense coughs along with the cold. But I think I might just have to talk to my doctor about it because I have been sick for a while now. My medication is only 5mgs so I don't feel it as much when I stop taking it. I start feeling side affects only like after a whole week or even two.

Its been a while since I had heart palps but I believe you should take your medicine, Next find somewhere wild, treelined and beautiful to go for a walk to reset the brain. Also tell yourself that you are a wonderful human being and the world would be lost without your presence which is true as we all play a part just by being. When you've done all that then talk to your Doctor about your heart palps to insure everything is ok as we all want you to be well.

I've had heart palpitations for the past few years now. It feels like they are happening a lot less frequently than they used to (knock on wood) though. You're likely just feeling anxiety. It wouldn't hurt to contact your primary care doctor if it concerns you that much, but if you aren't feeling any symptoms like heavy breathing, being lightheaded, sweating or chest pains, you are likely fine. My doctor told me that heart palpitations are a lot more common in people than you might think. I was so paranoid that once I went to the ER, got an x-ray, EKG and I even wore a 24 hour heart monitor to make sure nothing was wrong and all of my results came back normal and negative for any heart conditions. I'm also hyper aware of my heart beat. I like to sleep on my stomach but sometimes I have to lay on my side because I can feel my heartbeat and it makes me uncomfortable. Like other people suggested, try listening to music or watching something on TV. Anything to try to take your kind off of it. I know that's easier said than done but it really does help. Hope you feel better soon!

I'm another palpitation sufferer!! I don't take any meds for anxiety as they made me feel worse. My palps (PVC's?)usually happen when I'm sat on the sofa - relaxing!!! Very occasionally when I settle to sleep. I believe my tight neck muscles and a sensitive vagus nerve are the cause - heart tests were all fine - so I just have to keep reminding myself it's something I have to live with. Isn't it horrid when you feel you can't get your breath or you get a rush of blood to the head. Thanks for all being there to share - it makes it so much easier, knowing I'm not alone with these sensations.
