So its my 25th birthday tomorrow and I’m usually so excited for my birthday but tonight my anxiety is getting the better of me and I’m not looking forward to going out one bit😞
Has anyone overcome anxiety without medication? I really don’t want to go on medication because I’ve been reading that they make you feel spaced out.
Yeah just go out have fun and DONT THINK ABOUT anything but having fun! Its very possible but takes a lot more courage and strength and repetition to overcome your anxiety naturally if you look at my profile i have a post about Natural techniques to try for anxiety
Many people have recovered from anxiety, untold thousands, but by definition if they're cured they don't need this forum so are usually off enjoying themselves. And who can blame them.
I always say that if your anxiety is overwhelming then don't hesitate, tale medication for a fixed period of time, they have worked wonders to help people cope during bad patches, but nobody wants to stay on them all their life so the self-help route should also be persued. I've said before: Anxiety about taking anti-anxiety medications is just another symptom of anxiety.
Anxiety can be a beast and reduce the quality of one's life dramatically. My experience is that anxiety does not go away, but you can learn to cope with it. And there is nothing wrong with taking the meds to help you deal with anxiety even if you take them over the long term. If the benefits outweigh the risks, and I think they do for most that suffer from anxiety, benzo meds can improve the quality and productivity of your life a great deal. There is no shame in taking meds, anxiety is just another disease like any other that requires meds. Feel better.
allthingsprettyxx, I had written your birthday down when you wrote this post. I hope I didn't miss it yesterday. but either way....Happy 25th Birthday! How did you celebrate your special day?
