Drinking with meds

Has anyone ever had alcohol while on xanax? I’m on 0.5 twice a day. I’m 26 and would like to have a few drinks once in a while, but I haven’t had alcohol ever. And it sucks to not be able to.

Yes cos funny enough diazepam can stop you craving alcohol. I know that cos I have taken it since I quit drinking now and again. It's a downer so you don't need alcohol as that's two downers dangerous to mix same class of drug. That would be like strong coffee with another stimulant.

Diazepam isn't a downer ! They are used for anxiety .muscle spasms .some forms of epilepsy. They can also be used for alcohol withdrawal symptoms.I use for anxiety 2 mg as and when required and never felt depressed on them.

Yes I take xanax but called Kalma here in Australia and I have drank alcohol heaps of times on it and it's fine SheezusChrist

I have to admit.. I have done it in the past when my anxiety wasn't quite as bad. The danger is basically that you'll get drunker and probably make yourself sick off of one beer. That was my experience anyway. I just wouldn't do it. Wait until you're off the xanax,

I've been on Xanax for over 20 years and drink alcohol with no problems. HOWEVER, I would never advise mixing the two. We are all different and can have different reaction.

Hi I’m on diazpam 8 mg a day similar to Xanax I believe and 6 tramadol 50mg

bad to drink on

I have been out 2 times since diazpam but hardly took it day before just 2 mg and none the day I went out same with tramadol

I felt dreadful getting ready in a lot of pain (plus the withdrawal I think)

Only forced myself for a friends birthday

Was fine when I started drinking

But awoke the next day with slight trembling head to toe awful feeling

That only stopped when I

Took the meds

I was trying to not mix meds n alcohol but stopping is obviously a very bad idea too x
