I have generalised anxiety,graves disease and b12 defitioncy I take 5mg folic acid and have b12 injection every 3 mths,my thyroid is within normal range and the b12 deficiency was diagnosed a year ago,however I have started falling asleep afternoons,and if I am out as passenger in car I fall asleep or I start to fall asleep eating although my diet is very poor,hardly eat veg meat or fruit.lost weight and I have this strange sensation running through my body when I am moving about it feels like all the nerves are on edge,a jittery feeling that's not nice,i start feeling anxious then and have no energy is it possible its b12 as symptoms are same as wnen diagnosed. .

Hi, Bev. Have you had your vitamin D levels checked? You may possibly benefit from adding magnesium, but as your health problems are complex please check with your health care provider before adding any supplements. It may well be worth working with a dietician too to help you work out a healthy eating plan. Fuel is so very important for our mental and physical well-being!
there is a forum on HU that is really about problems with B12 absorption.
B12 deficiency and absorption problems are generally not very well understood by GPs or medics in general and are often undertreated - so may be that you need more B12 than you are being given. To me it sounds as if you are probably aren't getting the amount of B12 that you really need but if someone was using the normal test for B12 deficiency they wouldn't necessarily see this in the test results.
