had a stroke a few years ago. Among the other symptoms I had dreadful IBS. Literally woke up 6am in serious pain. It became really tiring . Although stroke recovery was diffficult it’s been succcesful . The big positive jump point for me was being prescribed 600mg Pregabalin.
id heard all the scare stories but after about a month it kicked in .
it really worked it also helped with the obvious anxiety from the stroke.
I’ve tempted recently to boost the Pregalabin with Diazepam , about 30 mg a day and a couple of 30mg Codiene Phosphate.
I don’t feel spaced out it just increases my mood and accelerated my stroke recovery.
Feeling as good as I have for years.
I guess my self medication isn’t ideal but after what I’ve been through I feel I can justify it.
Really need some feedback from some Pregabalin users.

Pregabalin has been a life changer for me I originally had it for severe sciatic nerve pain after a knee replacement but as I got better I noticed how I enjoyed things much more felt more content and felt much calmer I asked my GP if I could stay on it and she was happy for me to I take 100mg a day and the difference that has made is fantastic.
I'm so glad that it has helped you and I wish you all the very very best with your recovery
I had this ambition a few years ago to be drug free but I realised there are reasons for these meds. My mobility has improved and that’s about the content and calmer comment you made . I’m going to move in a better way because I’m not stilted and nervous .
You make a great point I couldn’t have put it better myself. Sciatica dreadful pain had it a few years ago another good example I thought I could work it off 🙄 on this occasion some dihydrolocodiene and the opportunity to work with a good physio sorted that.
Slightly off topic but a bugbear for me are the extreme exercise fans. You do not need to work out at the gym or go for 5 mile runs unless you are young and in training for a sport. The damage extreme exercise does to your body long term is really bad. Strain on heart valves, joints is insane.
