I have a lot of favorites but one of them is breakfast at Tiffany's. But I do watch classic films, comedy and sometimes drama. What are your favorites?
Favorite movie? :): I have a lot of... - Anxiety Support
Favorite movie? :)
i don't really watch movies that much but i really like 10 things i hate about you and clueless
Clueless is one of my favorites! But I haven't got the chance to look at 10 things I hate about you.
Those are good ones!
Goodfellas. Bronx tale. And hallmark movies
Bronx tale is one of my favorites! Oh my God. Only looked at half of Goodfellas. Have you watched the untouchables?
I guess I do make exceptions. Like the Godfather movies and The Sopranos.
Twilight is pretty cool. But horror movies👀 oh. I just can't lol.
I have a crush on him and Taylor launter lol. And do you really?
I love my dvd's-especially things like Agatha Christie's Miss Marple.. Taking my mind to a peaceful english village in another time is very relaxing for me. I also love the British sitcoms and many foreign films. enjoy films that make you think especially ones that require seeing them several times to get all the littlenuances they offer. And I love comedies. I don't watch a lot of television as I don't likemost of the news and the commercials. Also, I don't enjoy bloody, violent films. I love music-especially classical. It calmsmybrain. I listen to my playlists when I'm feeling anxious. One thing I would like to conquer is the anxious feeling I wake up with in the morning. To calm calm 'stomach butterflies', sometimes I take a half a Xanax and I don't begin to feel calmer until I see how the day is going to go. Does anyone else relate to this 'early morning anxiety? I'm lucky I am retired and can plan mydays mostof the time so I don't have to do too many things involving other people in the same day. Having enough downtime in a day makes coping in general easier. Most of the time I worked in the Operating Room-surprisingly not stressful because I worked with the same people every day-same surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists etc. Not like working on the floors where everyday there were new patients and relatives to interact with. Toward the end of my working years I worked in psychiatry and there was one psychiatrist who would call from home before leaving for the hospital. He wanted to know if there were any major problems waiting for him or if his patients were basically ok. This was his way of starting his day. He was a good Dr and helped me realize there are many of us whotry to do what we can to reduce our stress. And it's not a bad coping mechanism. The world is so crowded and being in crowded environments, to me, is one of our most stressful triggers. BTW the italics don't mean anything; just me getting used to this new Google chromebook! LOL. I came late to the computer and not very technically oriented. Would love to hear others' 'secrets' and tips for lessening daily stress. For me, life's big events are more easily coped with than our day to day small triggers than can drive us up the wall!. Well goodnight. Will signon tomorrow. Burma (PS I don't type well either! Can you tell?)
I'm like you, I would love ideas on how to deal with morning anxiety. I could easily just lay in bed all day n rest my racing mind but I work and have children, so I need to get up and about. Any ideas of helping will be great fully received 🌸
Hi bedentle51, I wake up nearly every morning feeling anxious wondering what the day willbring. This may not be the answer for others but my doctors know this is how I handle this. I get up and take a half of a Xanax tablet (my tabs are 0.5mg so I take half of that tablet.)It helps my stomach problems calm down and helps me plan my day better. I also have a pacemaker-works fine- but my morning anxiety causes my heart to race a little and this is why my docs allow me to take the Xanax. Once I see how my day is going and can make a (tentative) plan -with few surprises. I'm fine. Not a perfect solution but it works. One thing I try to remind myself of frequently is I am not a freak because I am an anxious person. It's the way I came off the assembly line. So I try to accept myself and realize I will never be a very calm person in this life time. (Progress not perfection). One thing I no longer allow people to (glibly) say to me is"Just calm down/don'tworry, etc. Often I say to them -as nicely as I can! " If it were that easy to not feel anxious, I would have done it by now!" (I'm 73)? Also, when I feel I'm getting overwhelmed by ANYTHING, if I can, I get out of the situation as gracefully as I can and go listen to my playlist. (Always have earphones and my phone playlist in my purse. Didn't mean to get so wordy, Bur just feel that whatever you come up with that helps you cope is fine even if no one else you know thinks so. Take care, burmag (Burma)
Hi begentle51. I just reread your post and you have much more going on in the morning that I do so maybe my long answer below wasn't so helpful.. When I was still working and had other people in the household it helped me to get up an hour earlier than I had to so I could have'time and the house to myself' before others got up and started their day.. This extra hour gave me time to be alone and get myself together. Just another thought. Take care. Burma
Oh, that sucks. Lol I wish I got a chance to see before you did. You still probably look like him even with your hair cut off.
Hi, watch Moulin Rouge with Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor. I've watched it many, many times. What about the original Oliver?
Never got to see that. Lemme guess? Great movie?! Hm? I should see for myself. But that's cool! Nicole Kidman is like one of my favorite actresses.
You'll love it. It is a musical but a sort of tragic love story. Ewan is gorgeous in it. His character in the movie is what all of us women deserve!
Lol oh. Some people say I look I can be related to Janet Jackson😂😂 I really don't see it, do you?
Don't know him, are you in the UK?
Lol thanks! Cause I don't. Maybe when I say smile or something but nah.
Serendipity!!!
What's it about? If you don't mind me asking. I wanted to check out some new movies since I've been watching the same ones and knowing every part lol.
I would probably mess it up if I tried to explain it. Lol
Oh and My All American! Great movie and I'm partial to it because I got a role in this movie and forced myself to do something extreme when my anxiety was bad - I'm UT football player 81.
I guess this gives away my real name too but, oh well. I don't really hide so much anymore.
No, it doesn't. Looks neat!
Oh I have so many. This time of year, I enjoy watching Practical Magic. For classic movies, I love The Greatest Show on Earth and for 80s movies, Red Dawn. I like a little bit of every genre except horror, I think. I used to love a good scare, but sometimes I feel so sensitive with my anxiety that I can't watch them very often unless it's more of a psychological thriller with no gore. I enjoy a good foreign film once in a while too, but mainly because reading the subtitles relaxes me, lol
Singing in the rain is one of my all time favorites. Breakfast at Tiffany's is a great one too.
A film called Queen. It's about a young indian lady who is dumped by her fiance, so she eventually decides to go on her honeymoon alone. She is awkward at first but makes friends who help her with updating her image and way of thinking. As soon as the man she was going to marry finds out he travels all the way to find her to get her back but she refuses and she's happy. It's a really funny and uplifting film.
