So there are no lanterns available at all my parents got candles
I have read that candles do & can produce carbon monoxide
We have a hurricane coming
There won't be a/c obviously or electricity
I have pets & family who have to be at our home I have to hunker down at my house
It will be hot & humid my anxiety is already bad enough.. this adds to it
I'm really worried about this
My mom says I'm nutts & she doesn't want to listen to me about this

Your mom is right. People used candles for light fir thousands of years. None died of carbon monoxide poisoning. The use of candles is no cause for concerns. I hope that the tornedo is kind to you and your parents and soon becomes a spent force, no longer a threat. May the hurricane diminish in strength, we ask that God intervenes to make this so.
Jeff....this is not a tornado. It's largest friggin hurricane in US history. And it's not diminishing....going to rip up through the middle of the entire state of Florida. We can't get to our home and don't know if it will be there. The hurricane is wider than our state. Danielle can be anxious if she wants. We all are, We have seen what she has done to the Caribbean as we are on ship in safe harbor behind the hurricane. It looks like something out of a horror movie. God is not going to intervene, This is nature, and He gave us brains to learn how to help ourselves. This is not Florida's first rodeo. But Danielle deserves to be anxious and her mother deserves to be anxious in her own way too.
The wind and the ways know God's name. If he commands them to stop, they will. Never underestimate the power of the man that created the universe in 6 days.

That's not what Danielle and I and millions of people in Florida and the Caribbean need right now. HE entrusted nature and this world to us and gave us the brains to do that. WE need to protect that which needs to be protected and to let this mega hurricane do what she will do. HE does not expect us to sit our butts and expect HIM to take care if us when HE gave us the means to be responsible and care for one another. And to rebuild after the hurricane does what she is meant to do. I will give Danielle as much support to handle her anxiety as I can, if she wants, as I am in the middle of this too.
I'm speaking the truth. I never, ever said anyone should stay in a storm unless they are commanded to. God parted the red sea and freed the Israelites. I have no doubt in my mind that God can stop this hurricane. I am not sorry for my faith in Jesus.
Excuse me, read your bible history a bit closer...moses was a trained military leader by his adopted Egyptian grandfather....he knew the terrain and the water cycles of the marsh lands, crossed when low, blinding the pharaoh's troops with glare of fire against shields, and they were caught by the returning water flow. History and the Bible are both correct, but you have to put them together. And please don't tell me he wandered through the desert for 20 years....or that there was no unplanned travel.... Moses' military mind knew what it was going to take and the years it was going to take to lead his people to freedom and how. . The Creator of all our universes enabled Moses to think and plan and become the leader he was. We all believe in something, but we were given brains to care for ourselves and the world entrusted to us. And we are going to act like children and expect HIM to step in every time we have a very hard time. That's like saying we shouldn't fly because we don't have wings....
Look we need your help and your brian that God gave you .....so get over here and help us if you can. I'm glad you have no doubts in your mind....that's not the issue.

Didn't mean to sound mean....but so many people really don't know what we are facing. We may have to stay on this ship for another week because even after the hurricanes are gone, the ports in Florida that can handle this size mega ship of over 7,000 people may be too damaged to handle her. Internet is up and then it's gone. Never know when. Estimated damaged is over 5 billion US dollars.
Our hurricanes form off the coast of Africa and travel across the ocean. There are four in our sea area right now. If Danielle's anxiety was focusing on the candles, that was really a good thing, cause now I am afraid that sneaking anxiety will shift to something larger.

If the candles are your worst concern now you are handling your anxiety well . Everbody has candles. This is not Florido's first rodeo with hurricanes and it great that all your family are with you safe. We are anxious too, but have no way to even get to our home as we're stuck on a ship that was behind Irma and are at port in Mexico because no way to get around Irma. And hurricane Jose is coming up behind us. Like you I have serious anxiety problems, mine is part of my PTSD.
Danielle, you and I have communicated before.....I remember you sending me a kind message when I had to put my service dog Scooter to sleep several months ago. He had taken care of me for 12 years, I thought I would be crazy..
You are going to make it through all this, and so are we, not easy and with our anxiety making us a bit nuts, but you and your Mom and your family and my husband and I are going to make it through all this. If you need to PM me to get through this, please.....do it.
We are having the internet go down and then an hour later go back up. But I'm not going anywhere.

Oh, hello Agora! No place to go, no place is safe....but I am going to try to do everything I can to help Dannielle control her anxiety. Scooter's photo is on our stateroom door...so maybe you're right. The United States has never seen a hurricane this size. It will actually cover Florida where ever she hits and the warm waters of our everglades are in the mid-east southern part of Florida to keep her strong after she hits. We may actually be oon this ship another week or more, as this is one of the 3 largest cruise ships in the world....over 7,000 souls, and many ports cannot handle her.
We are all going to get through this. A week ago Irma was not even a concern. So thank you for not telling me the Creater of all our universes will personally intervene. We have that responsibility to care for all nature, not just the part we like. Irma is part of nature, and everyone here is taking her very seriously, but the millions of people in Florida can't get out in time...they have been trying for days. Many have made it out, others are going to shelters, others are hunkering down.
It is what it is. And we will do what needs to be done.
