Has anyone been diagnosed with a nodule on adrenal gland thus causing extra feeling of panic?

Hi, I am still waiting to see a specialist about a nodule they found on my one adrenal gland over a month ago. The adrenal glands emit cortisol, the "fight or flight" hormone. Cortisol is highest in the mornings and diminishes as the day goes on. I have suffered with panic disorder most of my life. I am of course terrified thinking they will have to remove this "growth". (beyond terrified of hospitals, being put under, and staying in a hospital). I was wondering if by chance anyone else has ever had a nodule found on their adrenal gland? It was found after blood work showed higher than normal levels of cortisol and then an ultrasound was done showing up the nodule? If anyone has had this can you tell me if you found you felt panic/fear more so when you woke, and did you have it removed surgically? If you had the surgery how long were you hospitalized, and did it help you? I am not a young person and it is truly awful to feel "fear" each day when you should be enjoying every moment of life.
