Heart worries

Yesterday I was at the hospital returning my 24hour heart monitor and coming up a flight of stairs had my heart racing! It really scared me! I am normal weight no history of cardiac issues it anything and I'm 21. I'm hoping it's just because I need to be a bit healthier and it's not a heart issue! It doesn't happen when I climb my stairs at home (unless it's a hot day) so I don't know if it's something to be concerned about? My anxiety just goes into overdrive when I'm like this!

It could easily just be your anxiety. Before anxiety hit, I was very active and athletic, but once my nervous system got hyper stimulated, even walking upstairs would cause my heart to overwork and I'd get out of breath! I've had to stop working out, riding my bike... I'm doing a little better right now, so I'm trying to slowly get back into it. My heart issues have been my most bothersome symptom of anxiety. I get missed beats and my heart races and scares me. I had gotten to where I was afraid to exercise or do much of anything. Even still, if I exert a lot, and my heart rate gets up, I start feeling panicky, which makes it go even faster, starts skipping... I don't think it's actually a problem with my heart, though, I think it's my anxiety causing it, so I'm trying to overcome the fear of it. On days I feel more calm, I can do chores, work in my garden, run upstairs, and my heart doesn't race up, but when my anxiety is high, it's real bad, like I have to sit or lie down before it will slow back down to normal.
