Panicking at work

I'm in my 6th week of a new job and I've been doing well with anxiety, but I did not get enough sleep last night and it's my time of the month as well, plus my ears are a bit clogged from sinus issues. I've got that awful tired dizzy feeling and I keep panicking and thinking something is really wrong with me. Even though I'm 99% sure it's just a combo of the lack of sleep, ear issues and period symptoms...can someone please reassure me a bit? I want to go home but I don't want to get in trouble.

Hi I know how you feel. When I'm tired during the day I get anxious too and I just got over plugged up ears in the spring which got me going with anxiety. Its so ridiculous. Take Tylenol if you have or someone at work has it. It'll calm you down too cause it does when I take it sometimes. Drink lots of water too! I think it's cause we can't control our anxiety as much when we feel tired.

Thank you, water and Tylenol did seem to help :)

Interesting Francesca61 that when you take a Tylenol it calms you down. Me too. I take it on occasion for Fibromyalgia pain (Just 1 pill) and I get mellow and usually fall asleep on the couch. x

Hi Agora1, it does help right? The thing is I just need to take 1 junior strength Tylenol, I think it's 160 mg, it's the meltaway ones. It also works if I can't sleep at night!

I feel your pain without the period of course.

Sleep is detrimental to keeping anxiety under control for me.

If I'm beyond that stage drinking water and focusing on the Task at hand helps.

Remember your in control.

Yep this is exactly what I did and it helped considerably. Thank you for the reply :)

Awesome! Keep us posted, I'd love to hear if you develop any other techniques. I noticed through this battle everyone responds differently to a technique that works for them.

Well, I'm lucky in that I can listen to my headphones at work as long as I can hear the phone if it rings, so I listened to binaural beats on YouTube and then some music.

I have heard some great success stories with binaural beats and isochronic as well. I tried binaural and couldn't stay focused and got irritated. Affirmations on you tube seem to help me in a rut. though as long as i felt a real instrument was being played in the background. Lol. The crazy thing about anxiety is there really isn't something that works for everyone but trying everything helps.
