Attempted to go out for a walk to try to relax a bit cause my anxiety is at a all time high today, but it seemed to make me feel worse? My upper back tension increased. Also have been trying to rest through the day, and my heart has been pounding and I can feel it in my chest, throat and face! Anyone have an idea why?

Teeta3110, This all happens when we use negative words and thoughts in doing something. "I attempted to go out for a walk" As well as other negatives such as I can't, I won't, etc. We need to change our thoughts to a more positive approach. When we start out defeated, every muscle in our body tenses and before you know it, you get the other symptoms along for the ride (or walk in this case)

Man you are totally right! Bad attitude=bad day I also wish I could get this going to the er every time something new arises out of my head! Ugh...

Teeta3110, you are not alone in that thought that the ER will make everything all better. Except that's not going to happen. Been there, done that....Once they know it's anxiety, they may medicate or send you off with a prescription and an order to follow up with your doctor. Next time you get that urge to go, think it over rationally and ask yourself, wouldn't you be more comfortable waiting it out at home?
