I've been taking the generic version of Zoloft for about three weeks now-- are you thinking of asking your doctor about it or have you already been prescribed a dosage?

Sorry for the delay! I like it a lot! It was actually previously prescribed to me in my teens for depression, but in general SSRIs are relatively gentle on your system. My doctor started me on 25 mg for 6 days and then upped it to 50 mg until my next visit with her.

The side effects I noticed were drowsiness, some stomach cramping the first day and increased anxiety (that only lasted for 3 days and was nothing compared to the anxiety I had when I wasn't on the meds). The increased anxiety was the worst of the side effects but that faded over time, and you might not even get the same side effects I did. It generally takes a month for the meds to fully kick in, but as of right now I'm feeling great-- it's been almost a week and I've had no anxiety at all for the first time in months!

I took it for 6 weeks and didn't like it and gave me bruising. And once I hit 100mg I couldn't get out of bed..... BUT everyone is different and I think my psychiatrist is an ass for upping the dose every week. I went from 25mg to 1000mg in 4 weeks and I heard it's not suppose to be like that. Once I started lowering the dose to come off I started to feel better. Start with 25 and stay on it for a while then up if you need too.

Is it working?

Hard to say yet, my specialist said to give it 3 weeks. It's giving me some side effects but so far not as bad as when I was on Citrolopram. They told me they'd probably need to up me to 100mg within 6 weeks.

Hi I'm on 150 mg now, I thought mine was more for depression but may also be for this.
