Waking up anxious this morning

I haven't had anxiety to wake me up in a very long time, but this morning I woke up having PVCs. Usually I deal with those okay. They've been happening so long that I'm used to them, but I've never had them wake me up before. Has anyone else experienced this? I want to start taking magnesium, but I'm worried about which type to take. I already have IBS and I'm worried about the magnesium causing more diarrhea and stomach issues. My PVCs also seem to be connected to my menstrual cycle and get worse during the middle while I'm ovulating. I'm just looking for some reassurance I guess from others who have the same issue with PVCs. I've had all the tests that tell me my heart is fine, but sometimes I still worry, especially during the days when they're coming on a dozen or more times per minute.

Lm92 hi dont worry to much if you have been told all is fine with your heart but if they get more troublesome ask your doctor if a low dose beta blocker my help you.hope you are feeling better soon.

Thank you guys. You're definitely not alone, Katie. :-) I took a nap and feel more relaxed now. Thanks again for your replies.

What did the doctor say about your PVCs? I have heart palpitations as well, they only last a few seconds and only when I'm anxious or after drinking alcohol or having nicotine. I take 500 mg of magnesium everyday. I kind of did it on my own, seems to be helping. Taking extra vitamins won't hurt you. The foods we eat today have limited nutrients so its good to take vitamins.

Nothing really except that they're not really dangerous or worrisome unless they start making up more than 25% of your heart rate or cause dizziness and/or fainting. I have taken beta blockers but they didn't stop the PVCs and the side effects from them made me feel worse than the arrythmia itself, so I stopped. I've gotten used to them for the most part but sometimes they make me anxious when I've gone for a while without any and then they crop back up to every 3rd heartbeat or more. I know cyanocobalamin type B12 sets them off, artificial sweeteners of any kind and caffeine so I avoid those. My other triggers are hormone imbalances, lack of sleep and dehydration.

Yea I guess everyone's its different. I only had one missed heart beat when I had my 24 hour holter on. It felt like a lot more but they said its mainly stress and anxiety. Ask your doctor about taking magnesium, I heard its great for PVCs. Good luck!

I am currently wearing a 2 week event monitor because of my PVCs although I was cleared 8 months ago from a 24 hour monitor. Its sooooo scarier!!!!!!!!!!!
