Help please

Am I going crazy? What is this derealization? This is the most awful thing ever. When I wake up I just dread this feeling and pray it won't happen and it does and by this time everyday I'm almost in full blown panic.

Try not to focus on your symptoms. It is easier said than done but the more you focus on them the worse you will feel. I'm just speaking from experience. I hope you feel better soon. Derealization/depersonalization is no fun at all!

How did you get it to go away? Did you feel like you were going insane and couldn't function well or explain it well to anyone. How long were you like that?

Well I still get it from time to time but I try not to focus too much on it. If you feel like you are in a dream like state and things aren't real just go with the flow. These are just symptoms of anxiety and they won't harm you. Remind yourself of that! Focus on the good things and pray to God. He will help guide you in the right direction and calm you. Also a lot if people on here recommended a book called Self help for your nerves by Claire Weekes and it has helped me.

And yes it is very very hard to explain it to anyone. No one truly knows what you are going through until they experience it for themselves! I know exactly how you feel like you are all alone and misunderstood. You are not alone though! It does feel like you are going insane when we experience such things but just try to stay busy. Do you have any hobbies? Best wishes to you!

I've found it's good to lose yourself in a mindless activity that doesn't require a lot of concentration. It might seem weird, but I've found that something like coloring or knitting works wonders when I'm detached from reality or even experiencing anxiety.
