What you need to do is running and meditation. Takes a while to start working. The runs need to be over 40 mins long. I have got rid of anxiety by doing this

Trees...i get what you are saying....that sentence about stopping being afraid is true but it can be broken down into achieveable steps.....very rarely can you tell yourself to stop being afraid and it just happens......so here's an example.....start with the anxiety when it seems at a lower level.... Going in when its at its highest is setting you up for faliure rather than success. When you notice its lower try doing some relaxaing breathing eg 7-11. It doesnt have to be perfect... Whatever ratio you can manage... Stay with your anxiety and allow your thoughts to go to something pleasant....if anxious thoughts come in just acknowledge and let them go. Part of what feeds anxiety is the value we give the thoughts eg if we have a passing thought that we will fail instead of holding on to it smile and let it go allowing other thoughts to come along....do this until a pleasant thought comes and when it does allow it to stay.

By doing this kind of practice you are training your brain to ignore unecessary anxiius thoughts and develop positive thoughts

Hope this helps l. Feel free to message me if you want me to explain anything.
