Is anyone else unemployed due to their anxiety? If so how do you cope with being out of work? I have worked in the past and have had some awful experiences with intimidating bosses and co workers. I guess I just want to know that I'm not alone in this.

You are not alone! Im 28 and have only had 2 jobs that lasted a few months. Working scares me, to be honest. Being around people, having panic attacks. I'm married, so luckily my husband takes care of me. I'd like to work... Hopefully in the near future. But I can assure you that you're not alone 🙂 There are some fun, easy going jobs out there 👍So don't get discouraged. You'll find something that suits you, just as I will too ☺

I am working. But every morning was like hell for me. Every morning I forced myself to work in order to have some money for my medications. I really wanted not to get-up stay at my room, but if I will not go out in my room, it seems like I am taking care of my anxiety and wanting to feel insane the entire day, so I always try to get-up every morning, even it feels like crying and dying inside out! Sigh...really I wanted to die every morning, afternoon. At night I can relax bcoz I have meds. Sigh...YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!!!! WE CAN DO THIS!!!! I AM ALSO 28 BTW.

Thanks, I hope we can all find a job that's makes us happy 😊

I'm also the same... I'm only 20 however I have had 3 different jobs in the past and i am currently waiting to hear back from my 4th. No matter what the job, it has always been hell. Even if it is something that I should enjoy I just can't because the pressure of earning money and showing my worth creates so much anxiety in itself. I remember applying to jobs when I was 15, made to do waitressing and hardly being told how to do it, embarrassed myself and quit on the first day, I felt so scarred after that one negative experience and ever since then, whenever an employer or colleague has even suggested for me to do something out with my comfort zone, e.g. deal with public, answer phones etc. I have had a full on break down and panic attack. I wish I could just stay unemployed, work is one of the main triggers for my anxiety. The most days I have ever worked is 4 days a week and even that was exhausting. I feel that the only sort of job which didn't trigger my anxiety / panic attacks is cleaning jobs or behind the scenes jobs. Hope that helps in some way, your not alone. <3

Thanks Im exactly the same, it doesn't help when family are constantly asking why I'm unemployed. I've tried my best at every job I've had, but it never seems good enough. Like you I'd prefer a job where I'm just left on my own. It gives me comfort in knowing that I'm not alone in this struggle. I do hope we all find the right job for us. Thank you everyone for your replies, it really has helped. So glad I joined.

I'm unemployed now for many reasons, and my anxiety is one of them. When i look for a job i always get scared.

I think in your case the best solution will be find a job that you could do from your home, like something online, or handicraft. In this case you woldn't have a boss or co-workers intimidating you

I wish I was stronger and was able to hold a job, I know I shouldn't look back but sometimes I just feel lost and very lonely

I am 27 and I have had some disastrous jobs. I am unemployed. I have depression , anxiety, psoriasis and many other irritating ailments. Working terrifies me if I am honest. Particularly as it would likely be for min wage. Volunteering is a good way to get back into work , much less pressure. Good luck!
