continue to use CBT techniques. It is not an overnight fix. You need to learn not to suppress the feeling, because the feeling is there and your body is prepared to defend itself at all times. You'll need to learn to relax your body naturally and the mind will submit too. I know it is easier said than done but what if you said "Hi anxiety, I know you're here and you will be here for a while so why not live together peacefully?"
Sounds stupid? That's because it is, BUT it works. You mind is fixated on what you feel, but I bet you as you are reading this post you are not thinking about how you feel. For even a split second maybe you felt "normal" But that right there is proof that it is possible.
What has helped me is actually helping others here and responding to them. Telling them my story and my success and also my set backs because I have those too. Im having one this week but I don;t let it get to me and it's slowly going away again. I know I have it but I don't let it control me because I know exactly what it is. It is nothing and it cannot hurt me.
If you need someone to talk to I am here. This website is a gold mine of great advise and great stories proving that people can over come it. Trust me you will be OK. =)
Devin is right hun. Calm the breathing and try using positive visualisations. I too have overcome years of excessive anxiety but am presently holidaying in Croatia..... Things can change. All the best xx
I feel you. I have been on high alert for 3 months and right when I start to feel ok here comes anxiety to shut down the hopes. Just now I was having anxiety attack. I rushed to the shower and after I got out I did some meditation. I'm ok now. The app is called Insight meditation if you want to try it
