Does anyone get the sensation of being short of breath even though you're breathing just fine? It seems like I notice it less when I'm busy. I was told if I'm breathing fine then this is called "perceived shortness of breath" Anyone heard of this?

Shortness of breath
Hi Nickie, how are you? Sorry I haven't had much time to check into the site recently. One thing I meant to mention to you was that checking with others for reassurance about your symptoms, like on this site, can actually increase or maintain your anxiety! Because you are taking the anxious thoughts seriously and trying to fight them by getting an answer from someone else about them. Try not posting about your symptoms - at first your anxiety will go through the roof as you panic that you won't manage without the crutch of reassurance from others but if you persist for a couple of weeks your anxiety may subside. It doesn't mean you can't still use the forum, but perhaps more about your experience of doing that rather than to ask about your symptoms. Kath x
Me, I do this. Just posted about it yesterday.
I get shortness of breathe and chest pains really bad. I did have it checked out by my doctor just to make sure there wasn't something wrong, besides anxiety, you may want to do the same.
