Amitriptaline

I have started taking 10mg of Amitriptaline for my headaches / foggy head , please if anyone has had relief taking this please let me know !

I was actually prescribed this for anxiety and so I can sleep. Apparently it makes you sleepy but I haven't taken it since I'm taking Zoloft. I'm scared to mix even though they told me it wound be fine. Let me know how it goes.

Hi Katie83, I have also been prescribed Amitriptaline for headaches, foggy head, head pressure, I also have dizzy spells, I'm only on low dose and onto my 12th tablet, I still feel light headed and have had a couple of headaches (though not as bad as I was) so I think they are working for me but I think it takes a few weeks to get into your system before you can tell. Keep taking them and you'll be able to feel the difference! Good luck.

Thankyou, I have only taken for 2 nights but have a bad headache / pressure in head this morning and feel very down, did you find this at first? Xx

When I first started taking them I already had head pressure and headaches and stuff so I don't think it was with the meds that caused that! They are defo helping my fuzzy head feeling now. So don't give up on taking them, you do have to give them some time to work! I thought I would feel better after taking just a couple but I didn't - its only now I'm starting to feel slightly better!

Saying that they aren't miracle pills so i'm not expecting them to cure me! Its an awful feeling when health issues raise they're ugly little heads!

Try not to get too down about it! I know its easier said then done when feeling like crap! Least we have this site to have a little rant!

Why did the doc prescribe the meds for to you? I got told I have anxiety and tension headaches! Though didn't think I was anxious but when the headaches and the other stuff started then I was, so its a vicious circle!! xx

I have so many symptoms ,but the worst at the minute are basically a constant headache across forehead and top of head, scalp actually hurts and top of my head hurts and with this feel like vision is a bit funny and feel like in not with it/ can't concentrate , I've had headaches on and off for years but recently are getting worse to the point I feel so down now , I have had an mri and cat scan , the doc prescribed them as she thinks are a form of migraine ( but everyday? ) feels like hell at the minute it really does, thanks for responding , what dose do you take? I take 10 mg x

It sounds like cluster headaches with you having them every day, do you get dull ache or sharp pains? What did the ct scan show? I've had ct scan but waiting for results!

I get light headed nearly every day and the headaches comes and goes! Like I said the meds seem to be working so hopefully you will see in a couple a weeks that your headaches have eased!

Hopefully these meds will help us both and can start feeling normal again! X

Thankyou, no it is a dull ache , that's there all the time can come and go but today nothing is shifting it 😥Dose 3 of the Amitriptaline tonight so I'm hoping will start to see some change with that, I'm sure your ct will be fine , fingers crossed for us both xx
