I've had health anxiety for 40 years_seemed to have a good hold on it the past few years but now I have oral thrush for the first time ever and I'm so worried as to what caused it-I wake up in the middle of the night in a panic worried I have some disease like diabetes or something-too scared to even ask a doctor for fear of what I will find out- my dentist called in diflucan and it looks a lot better but not gone yet and i only have 3 pills left- I just need someone to say it's ok- lots of people get it- it's not dangerous etc.... thank u!

But oral thrush can come from something as little as something you ate. It's an overgrowth of yeast. Honestly when I feel something strange (severe health anxiety) I try not to go to the Dr in fear of what it may be, but EVERYTIME I go, it's NOTHING, or nothing I feared. The best thing to do is to go just for your peace of mind. I'm sure you're quite alright really 😊I hope you decide to go. Going thru the ER will be quick and they will run all the tests to rule out anything serious which I'm sure it's not 😌

If you were to turn up at a UK A&E department with oral thrush you would wait hours for someone to tell you you're wasting their time.

Hi there, don't be afraid, it is usually caused be over consumption of sugar, what you need to do is emote fruit, biscuits, cake cordial muesli etc from your diet for a few weeks. NO SUGAR! Wha I have done in the past is buy Tea Tree Oil, mix 3-4 drops with 1/2 glass of water and after cleaning your teeth at night rinse your mouth several times and leave your mouth like this till morning. You can go to the doctor for a cream. Wishing you well.

I have had it for years from antibiotics. It makes you crave sugar so the first thing is to change your diet and remove sugar, even sugar from fruit will feed candida. What you need to know is that it is not dangerous BUT candida also increase anxiety :( I would be cautious about using too much tea tree oil. One drop is more than enough to use as a mouth rinse. Also make sure not to drink it. However, oregano oil is very helpful for yeast. As well, refined, virgin organic coconut oil is well known to help wiht candida. So try to include it in your diet when you cook your food. Stay away from cheese as well as it contains mold. Same thing for coffee an doc course alcohol or any kind of sweet drink. Stick it filtered water. What I did is that I started to revmoe thing progressively. Unfortunately, Candida is stubborn so it takes a while to get rid of it.

I know that even if I tell you not to worry about it, you will. That's the nature of who we are when we have health anxiety. Main thing, it is not dangerous, it is very common and unfortunately, it is hard to get rid of it.

Take care
