Scared all the time
You're fearful of the fear that happens when a panic attack occurs am I correct?! It's a vicious cycle, the more fearful we are it seems the more anxiety and panic we have. We bring it on ourselves a lot of the time. I know this because I've been doing this for 10 years now. Our mind is soo smart yet soo dumb at the same time! We have to realize that these feelings are terrible! But they're not dangerous they will not hurt you! Easier said than done I know once again. But you've got to try!
yea i only had one back in june in been scared ever since
Have you been to a doctor, therapist, psychiatrist about this?? If not I would suggest that being your next immediate step. Get a professionals opinion.
Yea i been to my therapist and i explained to him about my problems and he said i have health anxiety which i kinda knew i had it
Have you thought about medications? I know some people don't want to try them, but they do also help a lot of people. I myself have health anxiety so I know exactly where you are coming from.
Hi James, I'm sorry the scared feelings continue. Even knowing what causes it doesn't help 100%. You're going to have to work on it daily by meditating and deep breathing to keep the fear lower. It eventually will go away or at least not bother you as much. While the fear is with you, it's going to take some work. You can't wish it a way, even a pill won't completely take it away, it will just numb you to the feeling. Continued therapy can help you find ways for you to cope with the fear. Unfortunately, it's all in our hands. Nobody can do it for us. Take care.
Thanks agora
Sorry to hear of your fear James. I am struggling with anxiety at the moment. In 2009 I had a panic attack on a train. It was horrific and I was left scared after it happened. I remember how for a long time afterwards I worried about it happening again. I wondered if my life had someone changed and felt as though my brain had opened up to a new experience - one that I very much did not need!
I don't take anxiety medication as I believe that mine is brought on by medication I am taking for thyroid issues. Tried anti-depressants in the past and they didn't agree with me. I have heard that there are several new brands on the market that take effect after a couple of weeks rather than the usual six. A couple of friends are on them and have had good results. All they achieved for me was make me feel dead to the world and not caring.
The good news is that I have not had a panic attack since. I have certainly had times where I felt I was close to one, but do yoga breathing. Deep inhales through the nostrils and out through the mouth. They have helped me. I have also helped others get through their panic attacks instructing them through their breathing.
