Heart conditions

Ok guys I got bloods, three ecg exams and chest X-rays done a few weeks ago as I kept getting pains. It calmed me for a while. But I keep seeing these adverts/news about all this heart disease and faulty genes and it frightens me to death. Nobody in my family had ever had anything like that (my gran had a heart attack but that was caused by lifestyle) but the first symptoms are usually somebody healthy dying. This has sent me into a blind panic once again. Now I'm after all the gene/heart tests I can get! Do I need to worry! I can't stop thinking I might have it and it drives me insane

  • If the test are clear then you need to take it that you are fine, your anxiety is doing this.

Stop searching for things that will make you feel worse with worry, instead do things that will take your mind off it all. Do you have any hobbies or things that you really like to do?

  • Anxious people have this problem where they worry about their health don't worry I have these same problems try to think positive I know it's easier said than done but believe me if yu had a heart condition the doctors will say I promise take care hope you get better God bless.

  • This is me also. I've been to the ER 3x, had several ekgs, blood work, called the paramedics countless of times, dr visits, cardiologist. Every time they say everything looks fine. I have an echo scheduled for next week. I'm hoping that once that comes back normal I'll finally be done with all this worry. I have constant chest and arm pain, shortness of breath, weakness. Everyone says it's caused by my anxiety but it's so hard to believe. I always wonder if the Drs missed something, but I need to convince myself that they are the professionals and know what they are doing. Or I'll wonder if maybe I've developed something since the last time I was in. Stupid anxiety. I'm on meds and in therapy so fingers crossed that I'm finally on the road to recovery.
