Having Reiki done tonight for the first time!

The last week was hell for me. I was an anxious mess. Today I feel a little better, just a little down. BUT I really hope this will help me in some way. Anybody else try alternatives forms of release?

Justneedpeace, Yes I have, just about everything out there including Reiki. One of my favorites. Enjoy the experience. Wishing you peace and calm.

Angiecis22, Reiki is considered a spiritual healing practice that promotes balance throughout the body. It's a complementary health approach used in both, hospitals for Cancer Patients as well as in homes. It has to do with energy transfer from the practitioner to the patient. It is not a hands on approach. You are placed on a comfortable padded table with a small pillow under your neck and a light sheet over you. You are fully dressed. You close your eyes. Sometimes a candle is lit, the lights are lowered and there may even be soft music with chimes. A glass of water is placed in the room. The practitioner starts with standing behind your head and asking you to get in tune with her breathing which is slow, deep breathes. Once you have reached that point of simultaneous breathing, they will hold their hands over the rest of your body, slowly moving from one area to another as you both breathe. The idea again is to send her positive energies into your body so that your mind, body and spirit will be healed. The technique takes about 45-50 minutes of a most calming peaceful existence. When the therapy is done, you are given a few minutes to regain your composure. After sitting up, you drink the glass of water that was in the room and supposedly gathered the energy from the healing process.

I know it sounds strange but I've seen it take away the pain from patients in the hospital. Anything is powerful if you believe it will work. It's worth a try.

Thank you! That sounds really nice tbh I might have to try it out once when I can and see if it works and how it works on me x

I love Reiki it brings so much peace ~I always cry during a session ( just at first when the Reiki Master lays hands on me) but it is sort of cleansing ~I take my Chakra stones with me as well to absorb the power of Reiki ~you will feel relaxed after your session Enjoy!!
