Mental Confusion.
Forgetfulness is not dementia. cant remember names, lost your keys these are all really common. No worry
Thanks much.. from what I gather this is the case. If you're like "dammit again" when you mispeak of forget something it's a much better sign than other people noticing it and you don't .
I've had no issues with him one way or the other. Seemed like sound advice but everyone has a different experience with each other.
You're just like most people...you sometimes forget a word or two. Names also. And the older you get the more it happens so it's often called " a senior moment". I think of it as having so much information fed into your brain through your years that it gets crowded in there and harder and harder to retrieve it all exactly when you want to retrieve it. But it happens to anybody, especially if you weren't concentrating much when you 1st were exposed to something or someone new. Then there's forgetting common words like "bowl"...we just do it, don't we? Maybe we're tired or not focused, maybe we're preoccupied with something else, but who really knows? It just happens and it's normal. Nothing to stress about.
Im pretty sure it's stress and anxiety related but I have had some concussions over the years so who know knows. I guess sometimes I have issues sometimes I don't.
Concussions can have very serious effects. They could easily explain your memory glitches. Often universities have concussion centers because the effects of them are so very profound for many people and there's still so much to be learned about them. I dislike listening to someone I know struggling to get a sentence out due to a concussion scrambling her brain. She can be normal for weeks and then very much struggling to get her words out. I feel bad for her and wish I could be of more help.
Sorry your friend is going through that. I've never had my head checked mostly because they can't do much besides say "yea you have brain damage" but between sports mosh pits, and general wreckless behavior on atvs I've been knocked silly several times. One time I thought something fell on me but no... I hit my head wrestling a buddy drunk. That's how out of it I was. I thought the basement ceiling feel on me. Overall my quality of life is good the anxiety is actually worse than any of it to be honest.
Yes, anxiety can literally be hell to live with. It's worse than anything else I know and I've been through a lot of painful things. Anxiety can make every second a nightmare to get through and there's no break for hours and days and weeks and so on...
FYI: The movie "Concussion" with Will Smith shows how concussions can deeply affect people, in this case it's football players. It's a movie based on a true story.
