Hi what symptoms are you having? I been on Zoloft for almost 1 year and I stayed on 100mg because when I went up to 150mg I felt bad!! You need to give it some time for it to work u shouldn't go up if you haven't gave it a few weeks, praying to the lord helps me it relieves me, Jesus is always there with us we just have to trust in him,! He has been my strength in this!! God bless and hope this works

Thank you so much for your reply. I am just constantly anxious. I have GAD and OCD. I was up to 150 before and doing really well, so well in fact, that i weaned myself down to 50mg and my problems started back with a vengeance.

Hi

In my opinion, meds just mask the symptoms you fear. To overcome fear, you have to feel it willingly and not do anything about it. You have to learn to face your fears, accept them by being ok about not feeling ok and let time pass because time is the great healer. It is a process that changes your attitude towards your anxiety and removes the fear. There are no short cuts I'm afraid. Drugs may bring temporary relief and useful to take the edge off things but for peace of mind and body and full recovery, practising acceptance is key.

How do I do that. I feel as if I'm in a constant state of panic and anxiety. I have 2 small children who need their mommy. I am a wife. I am a daughter. I am a teacher. I need to function to be all these things.

Read Self Help For Your Nerves by Dr Claire Weekes and visit a website called Anxiety No More set up b an ex-sufferer called Paul David. Both teach acceptance and explain all you need to know about anxiety and how it manifests itself and dispels much of the fear which is the root cause. If I can recover without medication while holding down a full time job and be a dad to my 4 kids, you can do it too. There is nothing wrong with you. Anxiety is completely harmless, it just makes you think and feel otherwise and is one big bluff but you have to pass through the storm and experience it all before you reach calm waters.
