Has anyone lost weight because they have no appetite or desire to eat? I'm scared
Losing weight: Has anyone lost weight... - Anxiety Support
Losing weight
Yes. I have. I have lost a bit since developing panic disorder a few months back. I'm lucky if I'm able to eat enough to call it one full meal for the day. But remember, the less you eat the more your mind will not want to eat because it has been accustomed to such little food already. But you need to eat! Your body requires sustenance. Force yourself to eat. That's what I've been doing as of late. And I probably feel sick for about 20min after I eat, because my body was so empty before. But you will feel better afterwards. You don't want to head down a dark path of eating less and less until you start withering away. Trust me, I have been there too. So eat my friend, eat to help fight off your anxiety. Don't let the fear win! You are never alone, and you can win this battle in time.
Absolutely! I've spent 15 years fluctuating in weight. Last time this year I was 10 kg heavier. mostly has to do with lack of appetite, for me at least. And that of course ties into various medications. Simple rule of thumb I follow no matter how nauseous I feel, in the mornings I eat a banana and a handful of nuts, and some sort of power bar. Smoothies are great also, I promise you you will get your appetite back. Time and of course patients.
I have IBS frequently in the morning and lost weight from it I also as im typing this am having a hard time finishing my dinner I'm just kind of picking at it....I'm scared anything I eat will make my physical symptoms worse....we just have to be brave that we can heal and try to feel better I hope you stay strong <3
Obviously if you don,t eat you will lose weight, so if no appetite try a nutritional drink like Complan...best wishes
Twice I completely lost my appetitie and first time I was frightened until a friend's mum said "that's OK, you can go a week or so, you won't starve" and it reassured me. I did lose weight the 2nd time because I couldn't face much for a month, good news is I started trying a bit of food now and then and gradually appetite returned. Good luck
