Hey all. Thanks for reading. Does anyone know a likely cause that will make urine smell sweet and/or like wheat? Can something as simple as lack of fluid intake cause urine to smell sweet or like wheat?

Could you possibly be pregnant? Sorry if this response is random. 😝 I just remember hearing that when your pregnant your pee smells sweet. Lol

I'm pretty sure drinks & such things can probably do so too.

It's worth getting it tested for sugar to exclude diabetes.

Otherwise the smell is likely diet related. Asparagus is a common cause or dietary wheat.

I agree - it could be diabetes and if you ignore it you can very well go into Ketoacidosys - you do not want to find out at that stage - a simple blood test can rule out Diabetes.

Oh geez! Lol my bad! 😂 I need to stop my assuming for I obviously have bad judgement. Haha 😝 does your urine smell make you worry at all? I wouldn't worry about it. Sometimes my urine has a sweet smell to it!

I was jus a bit curious but now concerned with the posts about diabetes. I hardly ever drink water and mainly drink sugary drinks. Could this be a cause?

I don't think you have diabetes, but I don't know your body either. 😝 I use to barely drink water as well. I always drank the sugary drinks. 😝 I was tested not to long ago for diabetes & the test came back normal. I believe some things can make your urine smell sweet. I wouldn't be concerned about it. 😊 but if you do feel the need to get get tested on certain things, feel free to do so. I know when I got my tests done & found out everything was fine it helped my Anxiety a lot! 😊 it was a reassuring thing that I needed.

Its easy to get your urine sample tested for sugar at your doctors surgery, just take a sample along and ask if they can test it.

Your consumption of sweet drinks is also a concern for diabetes

Write down what your eating and drinking day to day for a week or so and see if the smell changes. Did you ask your doctor or maybe a urologist.
