Heart rate a bit too high.

I am not quite sure why, but ever since about Wednesday my heart rate has felt faster than usual. I took my blood pressure and heart rate today and it said it was nearly at 100 bpm. When it usually doesn't go much higher than 80. It might have been due to the fact that I was having a bit of a panic attack while taking it, but even when I lay down I feel it beat faster than usual. my blood pressure was 138/67. Is there something to be extremely worried about? Or is it something like mild arrhythmia? Whatever it is, it is making me extremely anxious and worried. I don't have any other symptoms, no shortness of breath, I don't feel dizzy or anything.

EDIT: Might be worth mentioning, I haven't exercised in awhile, I did go on a vacation on the 16th of September and got back around the 24th and haven't exercised once since, I however was at a beach and that certainly was a work out. So maybe I need to get back on a treadmill. (also losin a few pounds probably couldn't hurt, lol.)

Hi LightSezor, your blood pressure is within normal range. As for your heart rate, 100bpm isn't too bad when in a bit of a panic attack. There is nothing to worry about. You are putting too much emphasis on your heart rate which makes it go higher. Try using some calming techniques as well as deep breathing and it will slow down. Exercise is good for everyone because it helps relax your mind and body. You'll be okay. x

Thanks Agora, that helped. I don't feel it beating out of my chest anymore, which is a good sign.

Hello I've just read your message x try relaxing by perhaps deep breathing or reading a good book or walking x it does work and does help you x I've been there I know where your coming from x the more you try to relax the more your heart beat will feel better x not easy x

I'd say try not to even check your blood pressure or heart rate, your just feeding the anxiety by doing so, your allowing it to become an issue, there's no need to check, if the readings are normal you panic because you won't understand how you can possibly have symptoms with a normal reading, and if the reading is not normal then you'll panic thinking your seriously ill, thats anxiety, thats how it tricks your over sensitized mind, so don't check for the readings, just carry on with your day, let it come n go, :-)
