Hi Bmm89, everyone fears dying to some extent occasionally. When the fear becomes extensive where it becomes an irrational fear of both death and dying it becomes necessary to see out professional help. CBT is usually recommended in order to find the cause of how this fear came about as well as work in overcoming this phobia. The results are usually successful for a while or even a lifetime. Wish you my best.

I had to google the name of your phobia. I have always had this, I didn't know it had a name. I have had it all my life. It's a terrible thing. I also have health anxiety, which doesn't help the fear of dying. Try to find a good therapist. Agora1 offered some good advice. Hope it eases for you.

Dear Bmm89,

I feel your pain. I too have this fear of death. But what can we do? This is something we ALL will go through one day. I find comfort in my faith that death is NOT the end. I have been told that death is like a deep sleep. Our consciousness is asleep. And if our name is written in the book of life, Our Heavenly Father will wake us up and we will be in new bodies.

John 11:11

After Jesus had said this, he went on to tell them, " Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I am going there to wake him up."

Love and Peace be with you

Hi i understand,i have these thoughts every day, seem to have been worse this last year, but i think my anxiety and panic has also been worse this year,i think thats the reason why we think constantly of dying ,its because our symptoms of anxiety are worse, and this makes us feel more uneasy and catastrophise about death,i have often looked at how other people around me deal with this as we are all going to die and everyone knows this, but they dont even give the thought the time of day, they can just put it somewhere in the back of their mind and get on with living,we however get to a point where it consumes our thought every waking moment,so it is all to do with how we think about it,and i think if you work on easing the anxiety and panic attacks the thoughts of dying would lessen, sorry i wish i had the answer as im searching for it too,but it is im sure changing the way we think about it all,i wish you well with this and hope you find some way through to work it out and yes CBT could be a good help as it works solely on the way we think .

Your fears come out thew panic . Panic is subconscious . Anxiety is a symptom of something deeper ,like depression. I used to have a fear of dieing as well. But it got better when I understood we're it came from and why . I also understood it was more about leaving my kids behind . I believe we don't go threw life knowing people loving people never to see them again . God is good he is not cruel. It's the unknown we fear . . Hang In there you should talk with someone tho. And just know you cannot and will not die from panic or anxiety disorder.

What happened when you were little some kind of trama In your life? The unknown has not happened yet . You need to live in the right now . The unknown is just that it's not known . And you will not even know it when it does come . And there will be no fear involved . Take one day at a time . Stop worrieing about things you cannot change or things that are not even here yet. Your mind is taking so much in at once that it's making you fearful of living . I'm here if u ever need to talk send me a message
