Hey guys, so these last couple weeks I was having calf tightness every now and then and as of a couple days ago it's come and hasn't gone. It's not a pain, it's not anything that forces me to not be able to walk. But of course after going on google, I'm thinking it could be DVT. And a lot of my anxiety symptoms are those of a Pulmonary Embolism.... Has anyone had this? I'm currently freaking out. Want to go to urgent care, but don't want to spend the money, if it's just my anxiety. I can't afford it. Please help.
Calf tightness in one calf... anxiety has ... - Anxiety Support
Calf tightness in one calf... anxiety has now kicked in.
First and foremost, STAY OFF GOOGLE! Google or webMD or any other medical site. They are not doctors. If you are really concerned then go to your actual doctor.
Question? Have you gone t the doctor already for this problem? Have they cleared you? If they did then you need to believe in what they say. Your calf hurting can be anything.. Instead of thinking the worst maybe think of what it could also be.... A soar muscle.. Maybe you walked for a period of time...Or stood for a while...Or stepped up on stairs... These things could aggravate any muscle.. Especially if you are not actively using the muscle.
Stop with the devastating thinking and focus on what it most likely is...
I've had many tests done on my heart because I deal with a health anxiety. My symtpoms were the normal like everyone elese that has concerns on their heart (chest pain, back pain, jaw pain, left arm pain). So now I've had every test you can think of (2 -xrays, 3 troponin tests, 3 Cholesterol tests, 4 ECG's, a 24 holter monitor, a stress test, Echocardiogram, MRI,MRA,MRV tests, and 3 CT scans....) and still they found nothing. So my cardiologist asked me to take ibuprofen for 2 weeks.... and guess what... The pains went away. Of course they did because it was a muscular pain vs a cardiac pain... This helped me understand that my anxiety was causing these pains and not my heart.
What am I saying? try a pain reliever and see if it stops the pain. Then you will know it is muscular. I am no doctor so take my experience and see if it is the same for you. But if you are not convinced then go to the doctor regardless of the price. There is no price tag on your health.

That's great to hear Devin. I haven't seen the Dr. For my calf scare yet, because it's a newer thing. But I have an appt with her on Monday and I will be saying that. But you're completely right I should try that. I think the hypochondriac in me comes out, because after I start to think I may or may not have a clot, my head starts to hurt. I'm almost positive it's my anxiety, but hearing your words help reassure me. I'm new with anxiety, so this is all new to me. Thank you.
I get a tightness in my calf as well. Are you drinking enough water etc ? It's usually when I forget to nourish myself lol or lack of vitamins
It did fear it was like a blood clot or something but my doctor was like there would be swelling and u would know if u had one for real
I have had a blood clot in my leg and I had more than a bit of tightness in my calf.
I will just say that because I do not want you to go into a panic. You have an appt with a doctor and perhaps they can put you at ease as it not being a blood clot.
