Does any one else have this happen. I have panic attacks daily it feels like. I always feel like I'm going to fall over and die, If I get a headache I'm dieing if I have chest pain it's a heart attack and I'm dieing today my head felt so heavy and I was really dizzy I also have some derealization episodes I must have brain cancer and I'm dieing. How do I redirect myself how do I cope I'm at a loss. I do have a low dose of xanax but I feel like it does not work sometimes.

Hi Jenkral16, you are suffering from a severe form of Health Anxiety. Depending how long and how often you take that low dose of Xanax, that could be the reason for your daily panic attacks. It doesn't take long before Xanax no longer works. It makes your brain want a higher and higher dose. It was the first drug I was given for anxiety many years ago. Like you a very small dose (daily). One day I thought I was dying. I didn't know what was wrong with me. I was shaking and terrified and wringing my hands, couldn't sit still, was pacing back and forth. The doctor told me I was in drug withdrawal. But how could I be if I was still on that small dose of Xanax. It had stopped working for me and my brain was craving more in order for it to do it's job. From there, I was taken off Xanax and put on Ativan. Ativan didn't even touch my anxiety. I feel once you have tried Xanax nothing compares to it. After 1 year on Ativan, I weaned myself off the Ativan very slowly (doctor's help) and am now on nothing. I think you may be having the same reaction to just not enough of the medication in you and your body is producing these symptoms hoping you will give in to a higher dose.

I'd check with your doctor and see what he may want to do. Medication isn't the answer, it is just a stepping stone for a short while to get you started in the right direction. I hope you will take control in doing something positive for yourself. My best to you.

Hi Jenkral16, on top of all the great advice you get from people on here have you tried to relax your mind? I was in a very bad way with my anxiety, constantly thinking I was going to die and so much more. One of the things that helped me was finding some hypnosis apps on my phone. There's one called heal your body by Glenn Harold and another one I used for anxiety. Whenever I felt an attack coming on when I was at home if put my ear phones in and listen. If listen to it last thing at night and before I got out of bed on a morning.it helped more and more as time went on. I personally would try anything to help myself as long as it's not hsrmful. Good luck 👍😀

Anxiety is like many things in life that with time and patience can be controlled, just gotta hang in there and take it day by day

Yeah I feel this way when I get a panic attack. I feel like I'm dying or having a stroke my body starts shaking but it's just a panic attack. I'm on buspirone and going to seek counseling. How long have you been on medication
