Hi Everyone! I was just wondering does any one have chronic stiff, achy neck and shoulder muscles? My neck and shoulder muscles are stiff 24/7. When I wake up in the mornings is the worst. As the day progresses it gets better but it doesn't completely go away. Somedays I just can't take the pain and I have to take Ibuprofen. My muscles are so stiff and spasming that it causes a severe headache from Hell. I always feel like I have to pop my neck to relieve the pressure. I go to a chiropractor every 2 weeks and get ultra sound therapy, massage, and adjustment, but I am wondering if I will ever be at least 75% better someday. This has been going on fot years. I feel this neck and shoulder muscle problem is contibuting to my anxiety. Thank you all and have a blessed day.

Stiff Achy Neck & Shoulder Muscles
panicnomore99, I too live with neck and should muscle stiffness 24/7. It was all due to a whip lash I received from a car accident many years ago. Between the whip lash and the tenseness of anxiety, I've destroyed 3 discs as well as hold my stress in my shoulder muscles. I pay dearly for it in pain whenever I do strenuous work. I can't handle looking down or up but for a few moments or I get dizzy. On rare occasions I take a Tylenol for pain. I use heat therapy which helps some otherwise I just grin and bear it. It is not an easy way to start the day. Hope you are okay tonight. x
I too, have same problem for years. Finally one day at the doctors, I found out it was my sinuses...yeh who would know.
If you are experiencing neck pain or stiffness, you are probably wondering what caused it and how to make it go away. Many people do not realize that neck pain can actually be the result of sinus problems.
Sinuses are the hollow spaces surrounding your nose, and there are four pairs of sinuses: frontal, maxillary, ethmoid and sphenoid sinuses. If irritated or inflamed, each of your sinuses creates a different type of pain.
Due to the location of the sphenoid sinuses, it is possible that you could experience sinus and neck pain at the same time. If your neck pain is connected to your sinuses, sinusitis could be to blame.
Wow! I do have sinus problems. I even had sinus surgery 5 years ago. My nose is always congested anyways. I constantly use nasal sprays to be able to breathe comfortably.
I did everything your doing, chiropractor, I did muscle relaxers, ibprofen, mine were awful and they would end up giving me a migraine. ....I'm glad finally the Doc figured it out, so sinus meds and muscle relaxer (flexeril) does the trick for me....good luck, I hope this information helps you. 😊

My neck is my biggest problem
Hi Panicnomore
I have had the jaw, neck shoulder muscle pain for about seven yrs now and I am convinced too that this has started my anxiety. It taveks down my back and makes me feel quite sick with headaches.
I wrote in another post that I am going to see a Neuromuscular Dentist in Ely in September, as I believe it all stems from my jaw clenching. And yes I feel worse in the morning...hate going to bed as I know I will wake up in pain.
If you want to look up this dentist he is Luke Smith in Ely.
